11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / kewpie doll head necklace on: December 13, 2004 02:00:54 AM
i had one tiny kewpie doll that survived my childhood, although minus arms and legs due to me chewing them off.  i couldn't bear to throw it out, and wondered for the longest time what to do with it.  well, i finally used the head as a charm for a necklace i made...

close up of the head (sorry for the poor quality of my camera):

12  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / my version of the bear hat from lain on: December 08, 2004 12:32:29 AM
i decided to make the lain bear hat for my sister, who is obsessed with the anime.  i was inspired by genkigang.com's version, but based it more on this picture:

it's made out of furry felt and i made up the pattern as i went along.

please ignore my grumpy-looking face!  this was right after working on it for three hours straight.

btw, my sister looks way cuter in it than i do.  Smiley
13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Flowered Skirt with Embroidered Deer - first time project poster! on: December 07, 2004 12:22:43 AM
i've long been addicted to craftster, however, this is my first time posting a project!  i finally got over being intimidated by everyone else's lovely creations and decided to share something of my own.  i only have this one awful picture of the detail of the skirt as i don't have access to my (crappy) camera at the moment.  i'll post a better one of the whole thing if anyone wants to see it.

i made this skirt (to wear to a gwar concert of all things!) without a pattern, added the mini pink ballfringe, the deer which iembroidered awhile back but didn't have a use for until now, and stitched on some little buttons and beads to look like flowers.
