11  Re: FROG Swap the Third Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gammykatie on: September 17, 2009 10:19:37 PM
That frog tote is adorable! Where in the world did you find that fabric gammykate? Very cute package!
the fabric came from the only affordable fabric store in town..... JoAnn's

and since so many people have commented on the leather frog, I thought I would post a few close-ups of him....

stretched out flat....
and his underside...

This was my first attempt at working with leather and although I lost the detail on his front legs and had a hard time hiding my stitches closing him up, I think he came out kind of cute   Smiley

I've also included a few thumbnails of the other items...
          and only my fourth pair of earrings -

this swap was so much fun, I really had fun trying some new things.  Sure hope it was an adequate package since I'm such a newbie at crafting.

Here is the fabulous spinning kit RhymeswOrange sent me for my birthday!

First - opening the box

out jumped STUFFING!

I lifted out stuffing and found this wonderful book in which she had added personal notes so I wouldn't get discouraged,

I lifted out the book and behold!

a spindle with some roving already spun to get me started,

 along with two small bags showing the difference between pre-drafted and split roving.

There were also two packages marked wool roving - one white

and one 'tequila sunrise'

Such an exciting present, I can't wait til I have time to devote to it so I can begin making my own yarn and fibre.

Thank you soooooo much, RhymeswOrange, I love it!!!!!!

I haven't had access to a computer for a few days but I had a pm from goatgoddess that she was posting yesterday.  Since I don't see her post yet, I am putting up a pic of the magnet I sent to her.... hope she doesn't mind Embarrassed !

When I finish with this post, I am going to see if I have my first swap completion.

Thanks again audio-astrophysics for organizing this swap.  It was much fun and I found that I really do like crafting, even if it isn't sewing.

I thought this swap would be soooooooo easy  Roll Eyes - but really struggled when I got my magnets trying to decide how to come up with something from my partners swap themes.  Thanks to dharma_rebel, goatgoddess and midnight7649 for the mental stretch!  It really was fun!  Cheesy SmileyWink

I received today from dharma_rebel and midnight7649.  Such awesomeness....

A Nature theme from dharma_rebel;

and from midnight7649, first a group shot;

grass w/a bee flying by-

an ocean wave-

and last but not least, an embellished stamp - no longer 1st class postage as of today, but special just the same;

I love all of them!  Thank you soooooooo much for making this a wonderful 1st swap for me.  And a special THANK YOU to audio-astrophysics for organizing.
