1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / NSFW curious christmas tree ornaments on: December 04, 2009 12:29:11 PM

So I've been busy knitting and crocheting for the holidays and since these are finishing up fastest, I thought I'd show them too you all!

They are Christmas tree ornaments inspired by Mr. Peen over at presents knits (and other things too).

Isn't he the cutest thing.

Here he is without the hat and scarf so you can see his shape.

For my second attempt I wanted to get a smoother overall shape, and rather like the results

These ones even stand up on their own.

What do you think, I need to make 6 or so of these guys to give to some friends as christmas gifts, I'm putting a loop thru the back so they can be hung on a tree very easily.

The pattern is avaible on my blog if you're interested, and I will be posting the full set when they're finished!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Two of the same ten dollar dress on: July 25, 2009 10:46:20 AM
Hello All... so I;m finally getting around to posting these... as I made them way back in May. here's the back story on these dresses... I was wandering around fabric land looking for some fabric to make myself on of those infinity dresses (turned out great, won't post pictures cause I'm sure you've seen a million of them already) and I stumbled upon this pretty fabric that was all gathered (ruffled?) on the top half and normal on the bottom... It practically looked like a dress on the bolt. So I of course did what any of us would do... bought the same print in two colours.

Here's the yellow one (I prefer this one)

and here's the matching blue one

The fabric was on sale two, something like 7 dollars a yard (each dress only took 1 yard) and then because the skirt portion was a bit see thru I picked up some light weight black polka dot fabric ( 6 dollars a yard, only needed half a yard per dress) so overall, I have two very awesome cocktail dresses for 10 bucks a piece.

*Sorry about the poorness of the giant pics, I don't have any softwear on my computer to crop them properly right now since I just reformatted... but I'm off to remedy that problem so I'll edit that in a bit.
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Magazine Bowl on: March 12, 2009 12:35:20 PM
Look, my very first post here, so alas, you're going to have to take the extra couple of seconds to click the linkies to go take a look at this totally awesome bowl I made out of about 40 magazine pages and 4 hot glue sticks. The bowl is about standard cereal bowl size (unless you've seen forgetting sarah marshall, in which case you may have switched over to giant cereal bowls, just cause they are so superior to small ones). And this probably takes like 2-3 hours of paper folding and gluing, but I did the work over three days, just cause how boring is sitting alone in your room trying not to burn your fingertips off with hot glue while making a bowl (not boring at all I'd say!)

I sure hope those linkies work for all you wonderful people!

Oh and here's a link to the inspiration/tutorial for this bowl.  http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/magazine_bowls

Thanks for checking me out, I'd love to hear your comments/questions! Enjoy! Roll Eyes
