CLM-- I know exactly why you need that heat-resistant pad for canning!  Brilliant!  How big did you make them--how many bottles will fit on there?

Texscrapper-- cute kiddy outfits.

I have a question for you guys.  Long ago my daughter was given a blanket that was made out of flannel yo-yos.  They were just whip-stitched to each other side-by-side where the circles touched.  And that just wasn't sturdy at all, and not washing-machine friendly.  Just plain bad idea for a child's blanket.  So the stitching had come apart in several places and I set it aside (for years) until I could decide what to do for it.  I got it out today, thinking that I would attach it to a backing by zigzagging around the circles.  But really I'd have to do each 2" circle, and I discovered that even doing one was difficult because I have to turn the whole blanket in a circle through the machine.  And hand-stitching doesn't thrill me.  Any ideas?

You did a wonderful job.  And I have to say that your Mom must really love you to attempt to fix your blankie when she's not crafty.  How scary would that be for her.  That just makes it extra sweet.

So cute.  I have some plastic discs laying around here somewhere I could try this with.

This is a great pattern for using up those partial skeins I've got laying about.  And it's so quick that I made three of them this afternoon.  I hope it's okay to sell them at a fundraising auction.  I didn't see any copyright notice on the pattern.  None of the "don't sell anything made from this pattern--personal use only"  kinda' stuff.  Anyway..they turned out super cute in neon pink, lime, denim.  And I made one in sport yarn with a G hook, which should fit a toddler.  Thanks Maria!

K-starr -- do you have a particular pattern for those?

I finally tried out the pineapple hat from Maria Merlino. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=421590.0#axzz2T7r8OFUX  It doesn't take a lot of yarn, and just a bit over an hour to complete.

So I made a few for a fund-raising auction coming up this weekend.  I made one with smaller yarn and hook, but now I'm not sure what size to call it.  I'm going to have to accost a neighbor with a baby so I can figure out if it's newborn or toddler or what.   Smiley
