1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Straps help! on: June 11, 2009 01:48:05 PM
I've made my friend a 1950's  style prom dress as a birthday gift. It is pale blue, empire cut with a sweetheart neckline. My friend is plus size but isn't pear shape or hourglass.. everything is the same all the way down. As her boobies arn't ample enough to hold up the dress by themselves i need to attach straps and i'm struggling for ideas!

Do I go for more of a ruched strap that goes down to the point of the sweetheart neckline and make it very 1950s or spagetti straps?

suggestions please!

I think it is just hundreds of tiny layers of fabric.. start at the bottom and work up! Hope his thing isn't too soon as i can imagine to get the effect you'll have to use alot of time.

I've seen the spiral effect somewhere before - could you get it by cutting strips on the bias?

Gorgeous dress!
