2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: Pets or weird people doing weird things to your craft.... on: June 05, 2006 07:34:23 PM
When my dog thinks I am paying too much attention to my crocheting she insists on sitting on my lap. She weighs 75lbs. and is waaaaaay to big to be a lapdog.

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Freaky dolls my 1st try (probably not toys!) on: June 01, 2006 05:30:33 PM
I really like the Barbie.
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: What can I grow without a yard? on: June 01, 2006 03:54:47 PM
Basil, oregano, chives, thyme, and parsley can be very easily grown in pots. Tomato plant are pretty easy too. Just get the "patio" variety. The plants don't get so big they are unmanageable. Peppers (sweet and hot) are pretty easy to do also. Spider plants are really easy to grow. Ivy is supposed to be too, just plant and forget....I can't get it to work though Embarrassed. Philodendrons are pretty easy too. Ferns are good for outside. I don't know anyone who manages to get them through the winter, but it is supposed to be possible with a lot of light and regular watering.
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Re: Organizing my papercraft source materials? on: June 01, 2006 03:38:01 PM
I have my larger pieces of paper in letter trays, divided by color, smaller pieces go in photo boxes. They came with dividers so the colors are separate. The smallest pieces go in envelopes, which then go into photo or shoe boxes. I have one of those small drawer systems to hold pens/pencils, glue, scissors, and embellishments. Works out OK, except my stash is getting pretty big and I have a lot of trays and boxes, and soon I am going to have to have more drawers. It was a good system to start with.
7  UNITED STATES / West Virginia / Re: WVU in the Wintertime? on: May 22, 2006 07:55:47 PM
I live about 20 miles south of Morgantown and I have been to Toronto in the winter; Toronto is much colder. I agree with the grey days. There are lot's of those. It can be depressing. The weather is pretty unpredictable through Oct. There may be 80 degree days, followed by the low 40's (or colder) and back again. Layers are a good idea.
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Instant Swap again? on: May 18, 2006 10:46:13 PM
I have been waiting to do this swap, but the next weekend is Memorial Day and I'll be out of town. Sad
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Kitchen help... on: May 18, 2006 08:47:18 PM
I can't find it now but there was something on Crafster where someone used ribbon to accent the cabinets. I think it was velcroed on because of renting issues, but it was kind of wrapped around the doors.  It looked really cute and made a big difference.
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Re: Windchimes &/OR vs. Birds?? on: May 14, 2006 07:48:59 PM
I don't seem to have a problem with the chimes scaring the birds.  There is actually a nest above one set. Of course, there are two bird feeders on the porch too!
