1  Karen Millen tulip skirt help in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by thea_athene on: January 12, 2010 03:14:59 PM
Hey lovely crafters, just looking for some advice on this beautiful skirt shape: What piece shapes do you think are used to make it? I'm looking for a second opinion. Thankfully, the stripes help you see how it's made!

Many thanks, all....

2  Help with a wrap-style maxi dress - first time working with jersey! *modified* in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by thea_athene on: June 02, 2009 11:49:31 AM
Does anyone have any advice for me when making this dress? I designed it on a wing and a prayer and I've never used jersey before. I've written out the design as below; the back with be quite plain but I have size DD breasts  and an hourglass shape and I just wanted to know if you think the top will work cut reasonably straight, if I should make any adjustments?
Any advice appreciated! (click on the thumbnail to enlarge...)

** have modified the bust section to be more fitted over the DDs; with the seperate straps it will have less far to fall and the curve should mean it scoops in underneath to be more closely fitted. I'll add an extra flat section between the top of the skirt and the bottom of the cups so i'll be able to stitch the crossover pieces to it, leaving no gaps. I also thought that if I hem to upper line of the bust pieces with ribbon (once i've tried it on) it'll prevent it from stretching and sagging too low? This way I hope to not have to make the bust pieces double layered.

Any thoughts? x x
