1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Law and Order Swap Gallery on: April 20, 2005 09:40:42 AM
First of all...everyone's swap items look AMAZING!  It looks like everyone worked really hard on the goodies for their partners.

Second of all...I got the BEST package ever from Hambucket yesterday!!!  It absolutely made what was a frustrating day SO much better!  Here's my haul: an ADORABLE Briscoe coffee cup, a cute-as-hell gavel pin cushion with "Judge Sarah" embroidered on it, and an amazing Munch bag!  Everything is too amazing for words...I can't even say which item is my favorite!  Eveything is currently on display around my room so that everyone can partake in all of the L&O goodness from my lovely partner.  I will post a picture very soon!

Thank you so much, Hambucket...you really did a GREAT job!!!  I love it all!!!
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: pulp fiction coasters (not the movie) With tutorial on: April 14, 2005 10:10:32 AM
Those are the sexiest coasters ever!  You did a great job...and it's so simple too!  I think you may have made my day!  I needed some inspiration to work on some swap items, and you totally guided me in the right direction!

I just noticed that all of my sentences end with "!"...your project has turned me into a blubbering idiot!  Again, great job!!!
3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / Re: The emulsion wont wash off... on: April 05, 2005 02:47:09 PM
I wouldn't worry too much about the coat thickness...I always use 3-4 coats and have had good luck with it rinsing out.

Was there a build-up of heat?  I have to put a couple of fans around the screens when I expose them, otherwise the light creates too much heat and actually bakes the emulsion right on!  I don't know what brand of emulsion or method of exposure (bulb, etc.) you used, but my experience is that a firm spray of water will take it off (at least with my supplies/method), with no scrubbing at all!  It will take a little tinkering to get the timing down...my first dozen screens were trial and error pretty much.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: where to get cheap packs of plain, fitted tees? on: March 31, 2005 06:31:16 PM
You could also try Alstyle Apparel & Activewear (www.alstyle.com).  I run a screenprinting business, and if you can swing buying a dozen in one size and color, there really is no cheaper way to go!  The shirts are heavyweight too...and their shipping is amazingly cheap!  I got 6 dozen shirts shipped to me for only $15, whereas most "wholesale" online retailers charge almost that much per dozen.  If you happen to live near any one of their warehouses, they'll let you pick 'em up for free too.

If you live near a major city (or at least one that has some tourist attractions), you can usually find those 5 for $10 t-shirt stores nearby.  I live near Disneyland, and there are about a million of them!  The best part is that you can mix and match the colors and sizes, so you aren't stuck with a bunch of the same shirt.  The youth sized shirts usually run 4-5 for $10, and the adult sizes are usually 3 for $10.
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Skull Swap Gallery on: March 29, 2005 10:11:57 AM
Everyone has done such a great job on this swap!  All of the goodies that I have seen pictures of look amazing...we've really outdone ourselves, gals!

I received my package from stellato_escuro on Saturday!  Thanks for everything!  I'll be posting a picture shortly!

Homicide was taken out to pasture WAY too early!  I'm glad that they were able to keep Munch alive though.  Now all they need to do is revive that one really hot detective from Homicide...

I love SVU!  Particularly Munch...he's such a skeptic!  He's just a great character; he's so "Lone Gunman"!
