I like the purse especially! It's absolutely lovely! The belt strap idea is genious! Nice work!

Yeah faunal, your depression block is my fave! It stands out so beautifully! The colours you used remind me of a traditional quilt but it also looks so of like granite or stone or something to me. It reminds me of a bank somehow lol! Anyways, all of your blocks really are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

Oh gorgeous halfjackd! That's so sooo pretty. I love the out fabric. I just wanted to thank everyone who is involved in this craftalong, especially crazy_bc_jen. I feel so confident with my sewing now and I feel like I'm part of something. I really like all the sharing and encouragement! Thanks everyone!

So sorry this being late! I got so involved with exam studying I had no time to take pics of my blocks! Seeing everyone else's pretty blocks reminded me to get my butt moving on this and so here they are!

and

They're both a little wonky (and the one is sort of delightfully puckered  Cheesy) but I
m still pretty proud of them. Thanks so much crazy_bc_jen for organizing all of this! I've had so much fun already quilting! I'm off to Fabricland tomorrow to get a few more squares for Feb's blocks!

Adorable! When I first saw the pic I thought the teddy bear was your dog! Silly me...nice coat though. And is the inside that gorgeous blue plaid on the collar?

Thanks for your promp reply crazy_bc_jen! I'm almost done so if all goes well I should have some pics of the finished quilt block up here soon.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: "Model in a box" for my boyfriend? on: January 05, 2006 06:06:50 PM
Alrighty everyone! I finally have time to post the finished product. I ended up getting him:
-A pair of silky boxers  Wink
-A bath kit which contained body wash, body butter and body lotion
-Hair mud stuff (I'm going to do his hair for him)
-Moves by Addidas (which he said he loved the scent of because his friend has it!)

He was really pleased with everything I got him. Thanks guys! craftnovice - I personally loved the stylish magazine thing but the only stylish men's magazine had a few too many scantily dressed women in it so I decided against that!  Cheesy

Here are some pics!

The box before (well, I had covered the outside already but this is a view of what both the inside and outside looked like):

And the box after a little flashy gold wrapping paper was applied by moi:

Heres a pic of everything inside the box:

And a close-up of the print on the boxers  Kiss :

Thanks again craftsters!

Alright everyone I have a few questions about all of this. I've finished all the pieces today but I need a little clarification. On the directions for the Balkan Puzzle, it says to cut off the excess seam allowance. Is this the two layers of hidden material behind the triangles? Tell me if that question makes sense lol. Also, do I just sew these pieces right sides together since the edges are raw? My other question is, will this thread outline what to do with all the blocks at the end? I've only ever made one quilt before and it was a crazy quilt so everything was sewn together quite ruggedly, unlike more traditional quilts I've seen before.
