11  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: ONGOING ATC SWAP -- AUGUST 2016 on: August 13, 2016 05:09:30 PM
I claim Krafty_Karasu for "Halloween/Autumn/candy corn".

(2/1/0)

Heyo.
I live in Orlando, FL with my wonderful boyfriend and dog. I love warm colors. Mustard yellow is my favorite. I love odd, strange, and whimsical things. I'm never offended, so let your imagination run wild. I do keep my ATCs in a baseball card style binder, so if possible try and keep it 2D, but if you're too excited and want to break away from the parameters, I'm not going to mind.

Aliens
Godzilla
Kaiju
Yokai (Even though I love the game Yokai Watch, I'd love to see art of actual yokai from japanese folklore, not the cutesy characters of the video game and tv series.)
Cryptozoology
Person Body + Object Head
People with Antlers
Eyes and Eyeballs or People with One Eye or Three Eyes (or even 20)
Surreal Collage
Beasts with Lots of Teeth
Bugs and/or Mushrooms
A French Word or Phrase
Retro Science Fiction
Alliteration
Scientific Illustration
Whimsical, Weird Whatever from Your Brain

12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: 2016 Ongoing ATC Swap Discussion Thread on: August 05, 2016 10:16:26 AM
Oh man, I'm so excited to get back into the ATC game. It always pushes me to try new things and it always gives me the motivation needed to clear off my crafting table in my bedroom. When I am not working on something, my desk gets full with junk mail and the chair to my desk gets full with laundry. Then slowly I creep all my crafting things into the living room. For some reason ATC swaps always remind me to give myself a clean, private space for my art.  Grin

14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing ATC swap - February 2015 - GALLERY on: March 17, 2015 05:49:50 PM
Whoa, so many incredible cards as of late. I had a lot of catching up to do. I am hoping to get a new phone soon, one that can actually get the internet, and when I do, it will be more convenient for me to comment on the awesomeness of the gallery. Can't wait.

Well, I am happy to say my last card of February came from blu. The theme was "Whimsical, Weird Whatever from Your Brain" and boy, did she deliver! Her card is so simple and sincere. I love odd secrets and when people open up to reveal unlikely truths. Thanks blupaisan,  you are a master of so many styles.

sheepBlue Your creations are insane! Did you demolish a tiny village and leave a million tiny people homeless? Because I cannot think of any other way you have managed to make so many beautiful 3D ATCs.

blupaisan Your stained glass is great, but the curiosity cabinet is stunning. That theme seems to be getting some amazing ATC turn outs and I might just steal the idea...

Now onward to the cards I received this weekend:

Behold, two adorable and well done ladies with antlers. These are from spikefan. She did a great job with the colors and I loved adding these to my collection. Now I just might have to change the theme to Men with Antlers, because so far only females have been drawn- interesting huh?

Next I have another gem from blupaisan. She claimed me for two themes, Creatures that are Too Cool For School and French Phrases. At first I thought she was super inspired and was making up two different cards for me, BUT this was so much better than I imagined. She mixed two of my themes in such a creative way. Someday soon I am going to post all of my blupaisan cards I have received since I've started swapping. They all look so great together.

And last, I received a belated card (with communication of course) from artsycandice. It technically belongs in the January gallery, but it's so lovely and I really want everyone to see it, so I am posting it here for more eyes to feast on. She claimed me for a Pinterest Inspired Artist's Choice. She was specifically inspired by this:http://hannakin.deviantart.com/art/Apri-121409047. She said she based it on a stuffed animal she had created. I thought the card was the cutest, but then gasped when I noticed the little creature lifts off to reveal a skeleton. I adore this card. It is my first card that moves, but it still fits in my binder! She even sent me a sweet, watercolored extra. Thanks so much, it was worth the wait!!!

EVERY SINGLE CARD IS AMAZING...so I am going to limit myself to only talking about the ones posted on this page, because I feel like I could ramble forever if I backtrack to the last time I checked in on the gallery. (This ended up posting on the 9th page, so I guess this is referring to all of the ATCs on the last page...)

kosmicgirl The clouds card is darling. I really love the line work used for the shadows. It makes me daydream of warm Florida days on the beach.

bunny1kenobi Your unlikely greeting card needs to be printed and sold. Every year I am a proud and daring Black Friday participant and this past year was my first time actually working in retail on the big day. I enjoy the madness. I have never witnessed an injury or a fight, it's usually just a bunch of folks frantically shopping with determination in their eyes and caffeine in the veins.
Also, I had never heard of the The Uffington White Horse until now. I love when ATCs introduce me to something new!

Amaranth_in_oz Your Day at the Races card makes me want to see several variations in your style. I wanna see more horses and more women. Or maybe even a person beside their pet. I've always loved people side by side with their animals, like when royalty is painted with their dogs in their laps. Also, I love how the image extends off the small space of the card. And it's such a great use of color.

rockingbearranch Both of your cards are fantastic. In fact, I think it's great you sent the "mess up". I always have trial and error issues and then wonder if I should send out the one (or several) that didn't work out. I really love seeing progression in art. People so rarely share the version of something where the proportions are off or the ink smeared, but I think those flaws are inspiring and often more charming then the finished, perfected piece. I love both your cards equally, they're such dreamy, inky landscapes reminiscent of surreal comic book art.

blupaisan I never get enough of your style. I remember seeing this theme and thought, that one seems difficult, I'm not sure I could do it justice, but somehow you make it look easy. That is the perfect representation of a vintage butcher shop. You nailed it.

OH MY GOSH, this is the most creative and unique ATC gallery of all time. I'm officially intimidated. Everyone thus far has done incredible cards.

Also, blupaisan, I just commented on the 3D ATC thread. Sounds fun.
20  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Seriously 3D ATC swap on: February 19, 2015 11:16:20 AM
I've always been super impressed with 3D ATCs, but I have never personally dabbled in them, since I always worry my recipient might use a binder like myself and not have the proper means to display it...

What would be the ground rules for sizing? Does the base stay 3.5 x 2.5 and then any other added 3D element is aprroved? Also, would it be an ongoing swap with a longer creation time or a normal swap with partners agreeing upon how many to send?

Obviously, I am very interested and already want ALL the details!  Grin
