1  Re: Ongoing ATC swap - February 2015 - GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Susie Apple on: March 17, 2015 05:49:50 PM
Whoa, so many incredible cards as of late. I had a lot of catching up to do. I am hoping to get a new phone soon, one that can actually get the internet, and when I do, it will be more convenient for me to comment on the awesomeness of the gallery. Can't wait.

Well, I am happy to say my last card of February came from blu. The theme was "Whimsical, Weird Whatever from Your Brain" and boy, did she deliver! Her card is so simple and sincere. I love odd secrets and when people open up to reveal unlikely truths. Thanks blupaisan,  you are a master of so many styles.

sheepBlue Your creations are insane! Did you demolish a tiny village and leave a million tiny people homeless? Because I cannot think of any other way you have managed to make so many beautiful 3D ATCs.

blupaisan Your stained glass is great, but the curiosity cabinet is stunning. That theme seems to be getting some amazing ATC turn outs and I might just steal the idea...

Now onward to the cards I received this weekend:

Behold, two adorable and well done ladies with antlers. These are from spikefan. She did a great job with the colors and I loved adding these to my collection. Now I just might have to change the theme to Men with Antlers, because so far only females have been drawn- interesting huh?

Next I have another gem from blupaisan. She claimed me for two themes, Creatures that are Too Cool For School and French Phrases. At first I thought she was super inspired and was making up two different cards for me, BUT this was so much better than I imagined. She mixed two of my themes in such a creative way. Someday soon I am going to post all of my blupaisan cards I have received since I've started swapping. They all look so great together.

And last, I received a belated card (with communication of course) from artsycandice. It technically belongs in the January gallery, but it's so lovely and I really want everyone to see it, so I am posting it here for more eyes to feast on. She claimed me for a Pinterest Inspired Artist's Choice. She was specifically inspired by this:http://hannakin.deviantart.com/art/Apri-121409047. She said she based it on a stuffed animal she had created. I thought the card was the cutest, but then gasped when I noticed the little creature lifts off to reveal a skeleton. I adore this card. It is my first card that moves, but it still fits in my binder! She even sent me a sweet, watercolored extra. Thanks so much, it was worth the wait!!!

Oh my goodness there are so many good cards put up recently! The non-paper rooster and the Little Red Riding Hood are two standing out in my mind. I've never done a non-paper ATC...and now I am a little inspired.

Well, I did receive my first ATC of 2015, yay! It is from bunny1kenobi, specifically it is actually from her artistic son. It was for my theme "Let Your Child Draw a Monster". SO, I present to you Cutie and Nightmare:

I think we have a new ATC swap participant in the making =)

Yeeee, I LOVE those coasters, very creative!!!  When I made my partner a set, I started panicking when the resin started changing the look of the paper, so I know how Susie feels lol.  But when I calmed down (because there's nothing you can do once you pour that resin uggg) I started liking the changes.  It makes it all better when our partners do too!
Ah good, so I am not the only one. I've used resin before and it bled into my paper, but this time with the coasters I used Mod Podge to seal it first (and I even used a second coat). I thought for sure I wouldn't have the same issue. Except it did, yet like you said, you get used to it and even start liking it in parts.

WELL FOLKS, I have a lovely package to present to you. I received from Ramona Q a functional and adorable set of things:

Here's everything all together! I told her I like functional things and that I also have a printer's tray that I like to put trinkets in.

So, she embroidered this marvelous hoop of Steve Zissou to go on top of my printer's tray! The details are incredible and the back says, "Let me tell you about my boat". Too frickin' cool.

Then as a functional craft, she made me a Life Aquatic tote bag. I am still debating the lucky contents that are going to get to hang out in this bag. Maybe my books? Maybe some on-the-go crafting supplies? I love how it has the name of the boat on it: Jacqueline Deep Search. Perfect.

And then as if that wasn't enough, she also gave me a Moonrise Kingdom zippered pouch! I just bought myself some new Micron pens and now they have a home! The pouch has the troop number, the raccoon patch, it has "Khaki Scout" embroidered into the top, AND the zipper has beads that spells out Suzy- what an adorable touch.

Ramona Q, you really spoiled me. Everything was great. Thank you so much.

Alas, my computer has been fixed and my pictures have been retrieved. These are the ATCs I sent to pioneer9 for her whimsical monsters theme. I love to send an extra if I have the time and so she also received Pilot from Farscape. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE PIONEER9 AND KOSMICGIRL.  Grin

Okey dokey, I have received my final ATCs from May. (I still have pictures to post of what I sent to pioneer9, but unfortunately those cards are no longer in my possession and my computer that has photos of them has crashed...BUT it should be getting looked at today!)

Without further ado, some super cute cards from whatthepuck. More specifically, whatthepuck's kiddo. She claimed me for "Let Your Child Draw a Monster". I love drawings that children do, they can be so inspiring. These two ATCs are no exception. It looks like we have a cycloptic, winged creature as well as a large limbed purple and green beast! Thanks whatthepuck! You're my first claim for this theme and I now definitely wanna keep it around in the future.

I received a card from rockingbearranch for my surreal collage theme! This is a resend, because her first send out got lost on it's way to me  Sad (I am secretly hoping it just takes a long time to get to me, maybe it's sight-seeing, and then I'll have two fabulous cards, because I love this one so much...)

And of course I got some feathers and it came in an adorable card. (address hidden)

I received from CDEeeek and pioneer9! My themes were a surreal collage and a beast with lots of teeth, respectively.

The surreal collage is titled "New! From the makers of the T.A.R.D.I.S. Time Machines. -It's bigger on the inside!" I don't watch Dr. Who, however I still get it, since I am friends with plenty fans, plus I love it just the same. Thanks so much CDEeeek for this surreal advertisement right out of the '50s!

Then pioneer9 sent me Matthias, a monster with several teeth, horns, and a heart of g...reen  Grin. He's a handsome creature and a well drawn card, thanks-a-million.

I received some wonderful cards the other day, but was having some internet connection issues so I couldn't post the photos when I wanted. With those problems resolved, I give you my cards from blupaisan and My_RubySlippers respectively.

Blu claimed me for Retro Sci-Fi. This was my first claim for this theme and her interpretation of it made me decide it's a keeper. I love blupaisan's style. I have received ATCs from her in the past and so I am building a small collection. They all look great side by side.

My_RubySlippers claimed me for People with Antlers. The girl with antlers she drew is adorable. She looks like she's straight out of some whimsical manga or cartoon.

Thank you two so very much.

10  Re: Ongoing ATC swap - November 2013 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Susie Apple on: December 05, 2013 10:48:17 AM
I received my last ATC for November. What a shame, it came and went so fast. My last ATC was from kosmicgirl for my "People with Antlers" theme. It's gorgeous. Her style is unique and so clean. The image just pops right off the card. She also was sweet and sent me a postcard from overseas. Thanks kosmicgirl for my ATC and for organizing this month so well.
