We have really taken off and I am so grateful for all of the support of the crafting community.  We are sending out an average of 8 boxes a months and they are jammed full of items!!  We run tight on the shipping costs some months but generally when I let the members know, they step up and we can get the last few out.

I hope that we get more members to join in, as we were recently granted approval for shipping directly to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center!!  This is a huge deal and we are so proud!

Hi there!  I am a stay at home mom residing in New Port Richey that would like to start a knitting/crochet circle.  Is anyone interested?  I'm thinking the group could meet during the week around either mid-morning or mid-afternoon, any time in between is nap time.

If you would like to create a knitting circle, please let me know.  Crocheters are more than welcome too!

I'm in the New Port Richey area - about 20 minutes north of Clearwater.  I love knitting, cross-stitch (counted, not stamped) and am toying with the idea of having my mom teach me how to quilt.  I started a charity, Hats For Heroes, where we make homemade items for the brave men and women overseas in our Armed Forces.  There is a post over in the charity section (Crafting for Good Not Evil) that has more details.

If anyone in the area is interested in joining, I would love to host a knitting circle some afternoon!

It's working out really well.  Last month we sent out 31 hats and so far for this month we have 15 but we are expected to double the amount we sent in February!

Once my husband has completed our official site, I will be sure to add it to my signature so you can stop by and see all that he's done and what we are all about without having to go through a social networking community.

My husband is working really hard to finish creating our "official site" but right now we have a wonderful exchange and pattern section. We are getting to be a large Cause on Facebook and my sweet husband apparently had a magical number in his head, and when we reached it he began creating our website.

I started a cause, Hats for Heroes, when my nephew got stationed in Iraq. He is in the Army and jumps out of perfectly good airplanes. They are very cold over there and so I made him a homemade hat. When his unit saw it, they all asked if I would make them some... and so began Hats For Heroes.
