1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Re: Orange Floral "Monstrosity" needs some love! on: May 24, 2010 08:48:21 AM
What a cheery flattering dress! The nipping in of the waist makes you have such nice curves without being clingy.

My take on the friend situation: (going by your username) While it's got a very retro feel, it's not really a psychobilly print, so it may just be out of character. I know I'd get funny looks from my friends when I would show up at shows still in my khakis and pink workwear, it's probably just not their style.
Doesn't mean it's not an awesome dress. Which it is.

Also, are your shoes in your icon from Iron Fist?? So jealous.
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Cocktail Swap Gallery on: November 01, 2009 01:07:43 PM
Mmm dogfish head.
A swap I would totally consider joining round 2 of!
3  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Perfect Scale Commision (Loads of Pictures) on: October 10, 2009 04:03:55 PM
I'm sure this isn't relevant to this situation, since the girl's mother asked you to create it, but I beg everyone who considered/will consider making a similar gift:

Any focus on an ED sufferer's weight can, and likely will, trigger. ESPECIALLY when it's an outsider, EVEN if they're telling me nice things. Because you're still focused on it, I'm fixated on it, and in some cases, if I'm being told I'm perfect when I'm at my worst, I could clearly only be more perfect if I'm more emaciated.

YMMV but I would hate to see such a sweet thought backfire.
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Child Abuse Make Up - graphic images - image heavy on: September 13, 2009 07:59:00 AM
Unfortunately, working in emergency healthcare, I've seen some of these and worse. Accurate, heartwrenching as the real thing, and it's a noble cause. Kudos.

(And I love your bully! Glad to see such a loved looking daughter and dog)
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Here we go: 3 bags ive done?! on: September 12, 2009 07:50:26 AM
I really like your color choices! I'm dealing with that "ew" on the inside of my bags too...but I haven't wrapped my head around how to line them quite yet! I think they look good. I like the last one's colors...a lot!

If you check out some of the bag tutes, they'll explain this really well. But basically, your lining should be assembled seperately, so you can put the "ew" sides together. Think like you're making one bag with a pretty exterior, one with a pretty interior, and then putting one inside the other. Then at the point you want to close them, fold your raw edges into the space between, and topstitch.
Depending on the style, you'll attach them in different parts, but that's the bare bones.

I really like the last one, I carry a ton of books and notebooks, so rectangley bags make me happy.

I can't wait to see it on, that looks so cool!
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects / Re: Make Your Own Worm Hotel - Home Composting Tutorial! on: May 05, 2009 06:55:24 PM
Wow, your worms come from about 15 minutes away from my house, and I've never heard of a worm farm. Inspired!

This reminds me of an aqua teen hunger force ep. about billy witch doctor dot com (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lV6J0QtcMkM) who can only voodoo chickens.
Love it!
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: reconstructed curtains from old clothes on: April 26, 2009 06:11:11 PM
Those are so cute! I wish my fiance would let me do cute curtains like that, he's of the school of thought curtains ought to be completely opaque... Weirdo.

I love the look of the clips at the top, are they attached to a curtain rod, I can't tell?
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Ugly Tweed Capris to Less Ugly Tweed skirt on: April 25, 2009 08:36:44 PM
I definitely suggest it, I mean, there has to be SOME reason we've been saving them for so long
