1  The hot pink bathroom of awesomeness!!! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Superjodes on: March 05, 2010 05:41:50 AM
I had a child free morning, so I decided to cheer up my boring white bathroom.
No before pics, but it was the same suite, just with plain white walls, nothing on them  Roll Eyes

This is the result of 2 hours and a pot of hot pink paint...

I love it, do you?

2  First ever recon! Love cats t shirt! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Superjodes on: June 23, 2009 03:09:47 PM
I had this t shirt;

Which was cool but a bit boring, so I decided to punk it up a little  Wink

I added a black panel in the back, then laced the leftover white fabric through it;

I've got the beginnings of a black ruffle on the butt, you can't see it so well in the pics. I'll add some more ruffles when I'm less tired  Grin

And from the front;

be gentle, it was my first sewing project ever!

4  S&B Nation - not just great for knitting patterns! in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by Superjodes on: May 02, 2009 02:08:00 PM
I adore the haircut on one of the models in S&B Nation, so much so that I took the book into the hairdresser to copy it!

Here's the before pic;

Here's the pic I loved from the book:

And here's how it turned out;

The hairdresser said it was the first time anyone had taken in a knitting book for style ideas!  Grin

That book has so many uses...

5  Polka-dotty shelves!!! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Superjodes on: March 23, 2009 02:30:44 PM
My 2 year old daughter, Daisy, needs shelves in her room. I couldn't afford to pay for new ones, so I bought these for 2 at a charity shop;

I bought a few tester pots of paint (1 each) and sanded the shelves down, then painted them!
I've done one pink and one yellow. They will both have multicoloured polka dots, but I've only finished the yellow one so far...

I did the polka dots by taking a little plastic bottle cap, covering it with a paper towel and securing with a rubber band. I used this as a stamp and just changed the paper to change colours. To tidy them up, I used q-tips dipped in paint  Wink
I'll post updated pics once they're on the wall  Grin

6  Boring bathroom cabinets, be gone! Image VERY heavy! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Superjodes on: March 19, 2009 12:52:34 PM
I recently got a new fitted bathroom, which is lovely...

if a little boring. I also didn't like the drilled holes in the cubbies;

I had a huge supply of gorgeous pink and black floral scrapbook paper, so i whipped out the Mod Podge and got sticking...

I love it! What do you think?

I'm going to make my own blind next, black with pink ribbon, and I've ordered a giant canvas of Dita Von Teese in the cocktail glass - burlesque bathroom a go-go!  Cheesy

7  A corking Mother's Day gift! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Superjodes on: March 18, 2009 03:42:57 PM
It's Mother's day here this sunday, so I'm giving my mum a few home made treasures!
This is a notice board that I just finished:

It's 100% recycled! The board itself is made from a box of dishwasher tablets, covered in scrapbook paper. I got the corks from Freecycle, and the ribbon roses and hanger are made from a ribbon I took off an old cardigan.

The back is just more of the box and scrapbook paper, to tidy it up and hide the bits of ribbon.

Let me know what you think! I hope my mum likes it  Grin

8  Dull and rotten bench gets sexy! in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by Superjodes on: March 17, 2009 08:30:43 AM
Well, the sun was finally shining here in Scotland today. Since that hardly ever happens, we all tend to rush out and do up our gardens as soon as it's bright!
This is what I did today:

Before - my dull and rotten garden bench;

After - I sanded it, treated it with rotten wood hardener, and painted the wood and metal;

I couldn't stop there, so got to work on my old blue gate:

And freshened it up, too!

Phew, that's better! I think I deserve a cup of tea and a Kitkat now  Grin

Ooooh, just came accross a brilliant idea for the line of rocks beside my door - I'll make a fairy village!

10  What would you do? in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by Superjodes on: March 15, 2009 01:41:38 PM
I picked up a gorgeous gossip bench at a car boot sale today, for the princely sum of 4. It is solid wood, beautifully made and I adore it, The thing is, I really want to sand it down, paint it white and reupholster it.
My mum says it would be sacrilige (sp?) because it's clearly in great condition and should stay as it is.
She has offered me 20 to keep it for herself, but I love it and really want to paint it!

This is the piece - what would you do?
