1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: All About Christmas Book on: January 08, 2011 06:04:57 PM
Thanks for the nice comments everyone. I really liked making it, but I think I will hold off on trying another one Smiley But I do have an idea for an animal book in a similar style.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / All About Christmas Book on: January 08, 2011 03:00:45 AM
I made this book for my niece, it was her first Christmas this year!
I started out with an idea to make a multi-textured, bright, and soft book for her... I then decided on Christmas themed because all of the Christmas fabric was on sale at my craft shop Tongue
I designed it myself, and did not have any patterns, I just sort of made it up as I went along (I did you some clip art for inspiration, the reindeer for one).
Each page has at least a few different textures, some have things you can pull at, jingle, crinkle, and of course soft fluffy things. Then I put thin batting and plain green as the other part of the pages.
This took sooooo much longer than I planned, but it was worth it.
The final product was about 8x11 and 4 inches thick Smiley
Hope you like it.

Cover page/Fuzzy snowman/Bumpy gingerbread house/Reindeer with squishy nose

Stocking with pull out crinkly pressie and soft kitty/Pressie that opens up with a soft elephant inside

Crinkly peppermmint, squishy pudding, and Christmas cracker that opens up
Soft santa with floppy hat/ squishy and jingly ornaments/ Christmas tree
3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Mr. Greedy on: November 23, 2009 04:05:14 PM
Thanks! I plan to make more, and if I do, I will post the patterns. I didn't think about writing the pattern for Mr. Greedy - there was so much trial and error along the way.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Baby Hat with Embroidery Detail on: November 22, 2009 02:23:27 PM
Thanks! The stem is a bit wonky, but the flower turned out nicely, and I figure once its on the baby's head, the stem's wonkiness won't be noticeable.
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock! A Big Bang Theory Cross Stitch (3 images) on: November 22, 2009 02:22:04 PM
Love it! That episode was so funny. Great piece, the scissors are so cute.

Thanks for the clarification on hide the mouse. If you want the pattern, its not mine (I thought the link was on my original post, but its not), its from the lion brand website (you have to register)

Thanks guys! I totally see the "look-alikes" that you mentioned. I wish I would have gotten a side view photo...when you see his belly, its totally Mr. Greedy Smiley

Thanks for looking!
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Mr. Greedy on: November 21, 2009 02:32:22 PM

Yay!
I made this for my BF's brother for his birthday.
I am super proud of it because it was my first project that was completely my own pattern. I usually modify patterns, but for this guy I had to make it all up.
Now, everyone wants one- but a different Mr. Men or Little Miss of course. So I guess I know what my next few projects will be.
His eyes and mouth were the only hard bit- the pinky/purple yearn was really tough to stitch through - suggestions anyone?
Comments/Constructive Critiques welcome
