Yay!!! The shirt looks great on you, Sweet_Sylvia! It was fun doing such a "Kevin-centric" package.  Glad you like it all.

And ooooh, The Office valentines.  I'm going to have to make a trip to Target.

Awww, your mom doesn't deserve your handmade gifts.  Honestly.  Just buy her things from now on and let other people who appreciate all your time, effort and creativity fawn over your thoughful handmade gifts.  Maybe someday she'll wish she was getting them herself.

You might want to get in touch with some at the California Small Business Administration http://www.sba.gov/ca/
They can hopefully answer your questions.  Since you're 17 they're may be some issues, but I don't know.  The show sounds like a good experience--you have to start somewhere.  Good luck!
25  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Let's talk Version 2 ! on: December 19, 2006 09:26:17 AM
I have a question about the shipping prefrences on v2.  I looked through Etsy and couldn't really find the answer.  I thought I was doing it right, but now I'm not sure.

My question is about the "shipping with another item" amount.  I thought this meant what the total cost of shipping would be if two or more items were shipped.  Mine reads: $4.50 ($4.50 if shipped with another item). Therefore my total price is $4.50.  But I see a lot of other people have $0 listed, like $4.50 ($0.00 if shipped with another item).  So doesn't that mean if shipped with something else they're not charging shipping?
Am I getting this right?
I'm not overly concerned because usually people don't order mroe than one item at a time from me.  But I'm confused!
26  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Buyer Turn Offs on: December 19, 2006 09:14:39 AM
Turn offs:
Before: Not enough information.  I like to know the sizes of things.  If I like something, I'll convo, but it's easier to just have that as part of the description

After: Receiving the package with the item I bought and NOTHING else.  No packing slip, no order form, no little note--NOTHING.  It's just so unprofessional.  And I don't have an easy way to email the seller if there's a problem.  Or if I ordered a lot I can't checking a packing slip.  It drives me crazy!  I don't need a hand written letter from people, but a little preprinted packing slip would be nice!

About listing "defective" itmes.  I've done that on etsy with a couple bags.  One had a slight stain on the lining and another had a slipt handle, which I reapired.  Both sold at different shows rather than online, but I don't see anything wrong with that. Just be upfront about it.

28  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Getting Buttons Printed... on: December 05, 2006 07:09:52 AM
I've gotten buttons done by Button Arcade in the past and was very happy with the quality price
http://buttonarcade.com/main.html

There are lots of people on Etsy that do one-inch buttons as well.  You could do a seach there http://www.etsy.com

You could make a tablecloth out of oil cloth too, this is just an example, I've never bought from this site
