I am thinking of making it for a baby to be orn in February and I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations...I haven't seen anyone make it...

I am trying to make a cover for cushions for an ugly chair. I can't find any tutorials online of how to make a box cushion. How do I get those corners right? Any advice?

Any in Brooklyn you can recommend? We're heading to the Renegade Craft Fair tomorrow and I was hoping to pick some up!!

I made a cardigan from in as my first real sweater (ie has sleeves!) and I wear it all the time. I had the mistake of knitting it in Manos Del Uruguay, which is pretty, but piles very easily. It's warm, cute, and I found the pattern very easy to knit.

I did find the sweater short, so I picked up and knit a few extra rows on the bottom.

Overall, yes the patterns are a little boxy, but big yarn makes bulkier knits for the most part. I say get it. Its a great way to make a sweater in a weekend!

I blocked it over the weekend! I LOVE it!!! I will add buttons tonight and post pics tomorrow! YAY!!!

I didn't like the picot collar, so its a bare cardigan, but I like it!

Frustration.

So I blocked by Sienna, and was ready to cast on something new. I started a sweater from Interweave in mohair, and though the gauge was right, I forgot how much give goes into mohair knitting. Ugh. So that is on hold.

I then tried a Clapotis. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrote, but it looks terrible.

So I'm on another sock, just turned a heel. Sad, sad, sad. There was a sweater vest pattern in Yarn Play that I think I might take a whril at.

Sigh.

I've been running clothing swaps for years, and it all seems to even out. But I have been talking about yarn swap with my girls, and would love some pointers!

Anyone go to one or host one?

How would it work? Not all yarn is created equal. There are many yards possible, thicknesses, and then qualities. Could you do like a points system? Like if I bring two skeins of acrylic and one fun fur, its like 5 points, but one skein of hand dyed merino would be 4 or 5 as well. Then you can trade your points for other things? But that seems kind of involved....

I'm still distracted wiht my socks. I'm up to the toes of number 2! I will start a mohair sweater after this sock is done. I want to finish it in time to get some wear this season!

And my stash grew. I've been so good about avoiding yarn shops but my friend Ivy, who used to be an EA at Interweave!, moved to the city, and gave me beautiful sock yarn from Lorna's laces! It's so soft! It's brown and blue. Man! And she had a ball of pink tweed that I grabbed. Bad!!!

Anyone ever hold a yarn swap? I'm considering it for the knitting group, and there is some stuff I will just never use...

Tonight: Watching Gilmore Girls and making purple baby booties leftover from my raglan sweater from two years ago!

I was there for Labor Day weekend and the whole weekend there were crafters and artists set up along the area leading up to the warf. I got a pretty necklace with a feather inside of it!

Also, if you go to SLO, hit the farmers market! It's awesome! Thursday nights!
