1  Re: *Sock Virgin* KAL in Knitalongs by Leaudemiel on: February 13, 2007 08:43:38 AM
Woo hoo I finished the first!

I'm not happy with the grafting so I might take it out and redo it tonight, while waiting for a nice blizzard to start! Smiley

It is so soft and warm! I am HOOKED!

I started the ribbing of number two.

My friend Andria convinced me in two words: No Seaming. I've had to frog once (gauge was WAY off) and buy new needles (who knew there was such a big difference between Size 2 and 3!

Anyway, I bought a skein of Opal, based on a painting (who knew?) and I just love the striping!!

Here's a picture of my progress so far (I did 15 rows in rib, now I'm going for 7 inches of stockinette.

And I'm ridiculously in love with how cute the little stitches are:

I'm hoping to get the 7 inches done so my friend can talk me through heel turning!

4  Re: Sienna from Interweave? in Knitalongs by Leaudemiel on: November 16, 2006 01:14:33 PM
Almost done with the back, done with shaping at least, prolly another inch and then binding off! Phew! That was quick! Maybe I can get some done on the train this weekend...

I use circulars cause they are easier to get into the Capitol, where I work, then straight metallics.

Anyone gonna join me? It's a quickie so far!

5  Sienna from Interweave? in Knitalongs by Leaudemiel on: November 13, 2006 10:35:06 AM
Anyone up for Sienna from the Fall Interweave?

It's a pretty cardigan, knit on size 9s. I casted on last night using a nice dark red wool I picked up at the Sheep and Wool Festival for $2.50 a skein!

Anyone?

6  What to be with this dress... in Halloween Costumes by Leaudemiel on: September 23, 2006 03:02:13 PM
I've had this dress for five years, and I love it, feel pretty in it, but have no clue how to make it a costume. I'm just not good at Halloween. I blame my mother. Smiley She does too.

Anyway, what would you do with it? I was thinking maybe Sicilian Widow, with a tight bun and grey streaks and a long shawl and wrinkles maybe...

Or maybe with my sexy long black boots and be a modern day witch... but witches aren't too much fun... are they?

Any other thoughts crafty community?

THANK YOU!
