Thanks for your quick answer.
I've thought of buying Chrystal Palace online ... but I'm an old fashioned gal and would rather go to an actual store to look at the real yarn "in person".
And to feel it, if truth be told.

I only thought of mentioning my little "phobia" just as I hit the Post button.

Almost an off-topic question:

Is there any company that sells *cotton* chenille yarn - other than Crystal Palace?

The closest yarn store to me that is officially listed as selling Crystal Palace yarn is two hours drive away. And it is in a direction of travel that I can't think of  going for anything other than the yarn.
Which makes it too expensive for me to "just pop in and get" - especially since I don't think I can find the Flower Washcloth pattern. (I borrowed a magazine (?) with it in, and I've either returned the magazine or lost it.)

Be careful Kategirl.

The knitter's curse about knitting sweaters for BFs might apply to knitting sweaters for their cats too!

How did it turn out BTW?

I LIKE it!
And would probably wear it too. As long as I wasn't doing any cooking for the party she must be going to.

Am not too sure about her hair tho - looks like she stuck her finger in an electric socket.

For a picture of muffatees - and a bilingual pattern (in german and english) go to:

Don't know whether they are the same as salmonberry's pattern though.

Oops. Didn't notice - until just now - how far back in time this post is.
Suitable when viewing such old, old patterns?

Thank you, salmonberry.

Bless you Kate!

I have spent ALL day -  most of this weekend in fact - looking for the pattern for this hat.
I'd seen it on a knitting blog a few days ago. Couldn't find the knitting blog again, and neither could I remember the exact name of the hat.

Not great for googling for a specific pattern!

I will now add this to my ever-growing post- Christmas knitting pile!
Thank you again.

TPK, your scarf if beautiful!

I may now have a solution for the bag of yarn I bought (gullibly) at a yard sale - there are many, many tiny little balls of yarn in the bag.

Please, please could you give us a hint of how you made that scarf?
