Ok so a year ago my dad took over a internal Medicine office and he has been having fun collecting artwork for the office. He has a lot of vets and so alot if his artwork is armed service related. So he asked me to cross stitch up a quote for him.

34  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Allena poppet on: January 06, 2012 12:50:38 PM
So my friend called and told me her daughter was having her fifth birthday in a week and asked my daughter to come. So I whipped her up a hat and poppet. Her favorite color is purple. I didnt have a gift bag here and I didnt have a car to run to the store so I made one out of a fat quarter I had in purple.
Easiest poppet I have made in awhile. I had the body already sewn and in my poppet box so I just stuffed and assembled, then used painted eyes that I had also in the box. She did get her very own outfit though (the ones I had in my box didnt fit her)  On to the pics

I stitched my label on her bum, I usually just use markers but will do this from now on I think. It turned out much better

Hope you liked her thanks for looking.

I doubled the yarn and used a small crochet hook to keep the hats really warm. Hats off to my lovely daughter who modeled them for me.

37  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / New poppets for the Significant Other poppet swap (image very Heavy) on: November 03, 2011 09:16:39 AM
So we did a poppet swap where we make something for the swappers significant other. My swap partner squire_inaria asked me a poppet for her husband and her daughter. So this is what she recieved.

Duncan from Dragon age, He got a poppet stand my father made,

An action shot and one of his armor made from craft foam, molded to his body and painted.

He didnt start out looking so grand. I added his beard first and he looked like Al Roker to me, then I added his hair and was working on his clothes and he looked like some spanish lathario

A poppet for her daughter. She couldnt descide if she wanted to be a ballerina or Repunzel, So I made her both outfits. I was gonna send a stand with the girl poppet but she was stuffed softer to make her softer to play with, and she wouldnt stand up so I didnt even send one with her.

Her bare feet and her ballet shoes

This is and entire skein of simply soft yarn for the hair.

Hand painted eyes

For the two crafted Items I wanted something for Squire since she was the one making our package. A pattern from her Wistplus a headband I bought for the peacock lover, (I bought one for myself too)And a cross stitch for her daughter
Hope everyone enjoys what they got
I really enjoyed making these. Thanks for taking a look.

39  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cross stitch for mom on: October 09, 2011 09:45:52 AM
So for my wedding in 2004 my mom was my matron of honor, and since she and my dad did so much for us I bought him a picture frame, but make her my first ever cross stitch.  She loved it and was so touched. This is made from a kit I bought, but I dont remember where or the brand that it was.

Her reaction

As always thank you for looking

So I have been in a cross stitch mood and thought I would post some of my projects. They were all designed by me but the names I got from a celtic lettering generator site. http://www.celticxstitch.ie/cgi-bin/stitches.cgi. The book mark is the only one that is finished off, the rest are finished but not in a frame yet.

For my daughter

for my niece

For a friend who we took to college this year.

My Dad won Nurse Practioner of the year in our area.

They arent perfect but they are some of my latest. Thanks for looking.
