So my girlie wanted to new dress for easter. And I always make her one and this year she wanted to take part in the process so she sat down with me and looked at the catalogue and chose the pattern she wanted then chose the material. Here is what she wanted.
She wanted to matching dress for her Maribel poppet scarlet_nights made for her in the SO poppet swap.
So my swap partner for the anything goes needlework swap lives near the great barrier reef and loves the ocean. So I descided to make her a piece of the ocean for the days she cant get there in person. This is what I came up with.
A 10 inch hoop, there is a layer of flannel, satin and netting to get the look of the ocean, my husband painted the light area at the top left of the hoop to look like the sun peaking through the water. And I stitched away. I also made her a needle book too.
So I have and aunt who does everything for everyone, she would give you the shirt off her back. So I descided that I should make her something special to thank her for all she does for people. Here is what I made her.

So I just got new furniture that is tan, and with getting rid of the old green funiture I knew we would loose alot of color so I wanted to make new pillows. I was able to make them almost all from stash materials. And while making some I descided to make some for my brother and sister in law who just bought a new house and we bought slipcovers for her mismatched couches. I wanted them to have some cushions since they have none. So here are the ones for me and for them. Each pillow is quilted before I sewed the backs on because I wanted them to hold up over time. I used a double needle and stitched in the ditch which gave a nice effect. Where the stitching is each side of the seam.
My pillows I wanted to make each pillow different.
My favorite one
I really like them all and my sister love her pillows. They really bring in lots of colors. Thanks for looking.
