41  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Dinosaur Swap on: June 16, 2009 01:45:05 AM
This is a little off-topic, but what exactly IS a wist? The site doesn't bother explaining...

Wists is a website that basically lets you put anything on the web, no matter the site, whether it's in a store or not, onto a wish list:

http://wists.com

You'll see a lot of them in people's profiles and sigs.
42  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: When your parents won't let you swap... on: June 16, 2009 01:33:13 AM
I understand your frustration. It's tough still living with the parental units. But even though you're of age of majority, you're still living under your mum's roof, and therefore subject to her rules.

I know some people have said wait until your 18, but no matter your age, if you still live at home you should still ask permission if you're giving out your mom's address. It's her home too, and she deserves to feel safe -- and to feel her offspring is safe!

Involve her in the process -- she might be more open to it if she can read the posts and PMs. Not using your full name may help also.

I think a PO box is a great idea. It might make her feel safer about it. I don't know what kind of income you have, whether you could afford a PO box for yourself or not.

In a Christmas card exchange I organized, one of the partcipant's parents didn't want their address given out, so they arranged it through me that cards for her would be sent to me, and I would send them on to her -- at her mom's work address. If your parents have another address like a work address or something that would be okay with packages sent there, you might ask about that.

But if your mom just isn't cool with it, you might have to just wait until you've got a place of your own.

Woohoo! I sent my questionnaire. I love dinos. I grew up on dinosaur documentaries for kids in the 80s, and Land Before Time (but as a kid I only saw the first one, not the franchise). My sister and I had our whole bathroom decorated in dinosaurs, and we had a hundred toy dinos that we played in the tub with. Hehe.

49  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Oreo balls/bombs/delicious bits of bliss on: June 12, 2009 01:41:07 PM
Ommm nom delicious looking!

What's great for me is that since Oreos and many organic versions of chocolate sandwich cookies are vegan, this would be so easy to make vegan with Tofutti cream "cheese" or other faux cream cheese. I want!
