1  Re: Baby/Toddler Hat Swap Sign up before Feb 18th!!! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by pellzin on: May 30, 2005 08:02:38 PM
Finally, here are some pics  -- my apologies for the picture quality.

This is what I received from littleone. The yellow one has the very detailed pleats and a button clasp, it is quite beautiful. The white one is fleece, I love the funky shape.

And here is what I sent. The red one is  fleece and the other is cord and jean-like material.

I had a heck of a time with the pattern I was using for the summer one. If anyone has a reliable pattern that they would reccommend I'd love to know the brand and number.

Since I would love to see more pictures of everyone's craftiness (!), I thought I would post some pics of what I sent to ReesaRe. This is what she sent me ...

This is a pic of everything I sent back ...

Since the point of this swap was to get yourself out of your crafterly element, producing these items that are posted below were completely new to me. I had never worked with styrofoam balls, nor had I ever decoupaged anything. I was also not entirely sure what I would do with the flowers. I am so glad to have now had a chance to do both. I got such great raw materials to work with and was able to keep using up materials of mine that have been sitting around forever.  I have never been so productive in such a short a period of time. Thanks xMelinda for coordinating this swap -- I got alot out of it.

i got two pouches so far.  the coolest blue flowered one with skull (!) ribbon stitched on and one yesterday from pellzin.  hers is so cool cos it's not a rectangle!  nope, it's this little rounded pouch with furry lining.  the colors are kinda sherberty and i love them both!  thanks guys!  go ahead and post pics of your work if ya can!

Here is a pic of the ones I sent. It's a cord fabric and on two of them I quilted the cord (with batting and everything). There is a different color cord fabric on the back of each. The white up top is fuzzy white that carries over into the lining. I need to master my sitching around the zipper, but otherwise I had alot of fun. Once I get all mine, I'll post pics of them.

Here is what is on it's way to mthompson828 ... you should be getting it soon.

Thankfully ReesaRe is helping my newbie self out as I accidentally sent the supplies to her instead of mthompson828.  Learn from my mistake, read twice, mail once!

7  Princess skirt for my niece in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by pellzin on: December 29, 2004 07:27:45 PM
My niece is ga-ga over anything having to do with a "princess" so I made her this skirt for Christmas. I found this great jeweled tuille (although it about killed my sewing machine when my needle hit one of the jewels) and put several layers of pink underneath -- scalloping the bottom edge. I added the ribbons and wound up with the big flower when I went to throw away the excess tuille and realized it looked like a flower when it was all bunched up. She was thriIled and I would have posted a pic with her in it but she doesn't ever sit still --- enjoy!

The front:

The back:

Some detail -- the flower and a close-up of the waistband.
