I think not knowing what it is adds to the sense of mystery, the creature is an enigma! I like it Cheesy
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: First toy-craft - Flat Cat! on: August 03, 2009 12:01:28 PM
Very cute, I like that it's flat. Did you use a pattern or draft your own?

I made my own pattern, in the time-old drawing on old newspaper way Smiley

Thank you for all good comments! Perhaps if ever unsettled with Flat Cat I could replace her button-face with a baby-friendly one for a whole new look Smiley

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / First toy-craft - Flat Cat! on: August 02, 2009 02:29:15 PM
This is my first attempt at any sort of soft toy, or indeed anything particularly complicated on my sewing machine!

I decided that starting with something 2D-esque would be a little less scary, and used some material I salvaged from a Bed Sheet Sale, because it is similar to Cath Kidston patterns! The button face I think is cute, but my general decorative sewing I think will get better - shame you cant see her little white whiskers.

I am very pleased with Flat Cat, hope you like it Smiley
