12  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Jelly Roll Quilt (lots of pics!) on: July 11, 2010 04:15:48 PM
Very Pretty!  I actually this same quilt as a WIP right now.  Did you use a pattern?  I saw it on the front of a book somewhere (actually an ad for the book) and decided to figure it out for myself.  Plus, I'm making it King size and a lot of the patterns I see are for much smaller quilts.  I love your color choices, mine is going to be juicier, brighter colors, but I like yours a lot too!  Nice to see it all finished, now I am re-inspired to pull mine off the back burner!

Good job with those fabrics, they're a pain to work with (imo).  And that criss-cross think looks very flattering for larger bustlines!

hahaa! I did the same thing with a set I got from big lots a few years back.  Back then all they had was primary colors and I wanted pink.  I took everything apart, and spray painted all the metal bubblegum pink.  Then recovered the chairs and tabletop with a pink gingham-print vinyl tablecloth (it took 2 actually).  Later I found a vinyl, repositionable-type wallpaper border with hello kitty on it. It had some pretty good sized pictures on it, so I ended up cutting them out and putting them on all the chair backs, and at each "place setting" on the table.  It was adorable!!!  never got any pics of it that I know of, BOO!  I ended up selling it at a yard sale for like 50 bucks when my daughter outgrew it!

Very cute!  And I have also found elastic thread either with other elastic or in a very odd place, NOT with the other thread.  In every store I have found it, it was this way.

OMGosh...you have to do the coin purse...when i saw them on the panel I was already thinking that!  Would love to see how you work it out!  Cute idea!
18  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Rainbow shoes to match my rainbow bike! on: June 09, 2010 03:02:36 PM
Honestly, I <3 rainbow stuff, but the blocky look you started out with is NOT my style... so when I was looking between the blocky rainbow you started out with and how the swirlies ended up, it took me a minute to realize all you did was add swirlies! They really make the colors blend together and pop! I love them to death.... much better than the original shoes you saw!

Ditto this 100%

I am so glad you did not sacrifice the Mr. T game.  My heart sunk when I saw it in the pic and realized you were posting it for the challenge!!!!   Whew!  that was close! Hahahahaaa.... seriously though, with the new A-Team movie coming out, you could probably score some mad cash for that on ebay!

Really pretty!  I don't know how to get it to lay flat either, but this does seem to be an issue with projects this size.  I think all quilted things do this to a certain extent, its just not as noticeable on bed-quilt-size projects.  I love how in the 2nd pic you're scrunching up your toes, like your trying to keep them out of the pic!!!  Cute!
