Gorgeous!  Would you recommend buying the weekend sewing book?
22  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Kingston Bug on: March 24, 2009 08:39:08 AM
I can almost anticipate the crunch of it under my shoe.  If you need some more for models, I know I have some hiding in my basement. (Peterborough).  Good job!
23  CANADA / Ontario / Re: Are there craft stores in Canada? on: March 12, 2009 04:02:43 PM
There is the artful needle in Kincardine.  That is the only one I know of.  Owen Sound, Stratford, Goderich, London, Sarnia, are not really that far away, and they all have numerous craft stores (maybe not Goderich, but it is pretty to visit).  Stratford is a gorgeous place in the summer, they have the world famous Stratford Festival (theatre, Shakespeare) and a funky main street. And London has everything.  Toronto has everything times five.  And Michigan is only a short boat ride away as well!
It might be a bit of a culture shock, especially because Kincardine is a small town. Coming from someone who lives in cottage country - it is never that warm living on the water.  The heat is different - more of a muggy than a dry.
My advice to your friend would be to - have fun exploring!

Captain Highliner is back in Lakefield!  I posted a pic in the gallery.  I will post some of Frederik's adventures when I hear from Gwin that he has arrived!
26  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Valentine's Day Gifts? Is this unusual? on: January 31, 2009 03:36:13 PM
I'm 30 and my Mom told me yesterday to watch the mail for a valentine's surprise! Soooo much better than the hydro bill!   It isn't about age, it is about doing something special for someone you love.  When I was little she would make sugar cookies with red and white sprinkles and put them in our school lunch bags.  I caught on after a few years that they would be there, but I never peeked until lunch so that the surprise (?) wouldn't be ruined.  Little things sometimes contain the most meaning Smiley

Frederik is all ready to head home tomorrow!  I posted a teaser photo in the gallery.  It has been sooooo cold and snowy here, Gwin is going to think I live in the arctic rather than northern Ontario.  Cottage country looks better in the summer!
28  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: Color help? on: December 03, 2008 02:22:48 PM
I love red too!  My living room colours are red, sage green, and chocolate brown.  This may sound weird and slightly Christmasy, but it works!  Check it out in one of my flickr pages - http://www.flickr.com/photos/iseepretties/3044320817/in/photostream/

30  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Picture Hosting Support / Re: Picture loading a success! Wait! No it wasn't?! on: November 21, 2008 02:44:23 PM
They are under two - I checked.  Some will load and some won't.  I am going to get my boyfriend to help me - he is more computer savvy than I.  It might be a silly mac problem!
It must be on my end though - not craftsters.
Thanks for your help!
