1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Cute Halter Top! (w/added tutorial instructions)! on: September 13, 2004 08:34:11 PM
I just finished this halter top today that I made from scratch! Tell me what you think. I don't quite know if I should keep it for myself Huh or try my hand at selling it..

Okay, enough rambling..here are the pics..

It was pretty easy to make these halter tops. Basically I:

1. Made two triangles for the boob parts. I put darts in them to make them fit right. I started out with a giant triangle and just kept cutting them down until them fit. Plus you have to allow room for the dart(s).

2. This is basically how the bottom part is shaped.

I just attached everything and 'voila' a cute halter top! I tried selling the denim one on ebay w/no luck Sad Maybe the flower one will sell better Smiley

I hope this was helpful! Please let me know if you need better instructions. I am sorry I suck at using MS Paint but if you need me to draw pictures I will give it a whirl..

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Puff Sleeve Shirt on: March 20, 2004 01:38:25 PM
So I have this cute puff sleeve shirt from the 80's.Now puff sleeves don't do too much for me LOL

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could do to alter this top? I have seen the tutorials here on craftster, ohmystars, etc. for reconstructing t-shirts/tank tops, etc. but none of those tops have had buttons going down the front like this one does..

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Failed Effort DIY Skirt on: March 20, 2004 12:30:49 PM
Okay, so I really did not get much feedback about my skirt 2 halter top a few days ago of which I was quite pleased with the result..Not spectacular but cute at any rate. Smiley

So how about this crappy excuse for a jeans 2 jean skirt DIY?? I was NOT Angry pleased with how this came out because the panel on the one side is wider than the other and the panel in the front is a little off center (I was trying to get rid of the crotch part)..

Since I spent so much time sewing this (by hand I might add) I thought the least I could do is let other people see it before I throw this out in the garbage.. Wink

I am working on a new jeans 2 jean skirt that hopefully will turn out better than this one! Smiley
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Skirt 2 Halter Top on: March 18, 2004 01:47:42 PM
Hello Everyone! This is my first (sucessful) DIY and want to know what you think.. I have been inspired by many of the DIY tutorials on craftster and so I made this halter top out of a very short skirt! I do think that I may put some ruffles or lace around the edges to make it look really girly girly though..

Sorry, I don't have a "before" picture of the skirt!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help! Any jean DIY ideas? on: December 08, 2003 09:17:04 AM
???Help! I have a pair of brand new Old Navy jeans that are about two sizes too big for me. They are dark denim boot-cut below waist style jeans. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can make them into (besides a skirt or purse anyway)?? I don't want to throw them away but I am at a loss of what to do with them! Any ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated! Smiley
