Hello everyone! I haven't died, although I came close. I caught the (normal) flu about a week ago thanks to the pressure of finals and lots of crazy, cruddy weather in my neck of the woods. It's been a rough week and I wasn't able to do much of anything other than sleep and drink water. I've sent a message to dragonmama letting her know what's going on. I'm still not at full capacity, but I promise to send out my birds as soon as possible. Sorry for making life more difficult for my partners! Also, just a heads-up: I mentioned it before, but it was pretty easy to overlook. I don't have a digital camera, so if my partners could take pictures of birdies before sending to me, I'd appreciate it if it won't cause you more trouble. I have a phone camera, so it's not a huge deal; the image quality will just be lower. Again, sorry for holding things up and I will get the ball rolling at soon as possible.
Hopefully, we won't have to find out! I am working overtime this week to get my last three done on time. Luckily, my paper for this week was shortened so I won't be killing myself with work. Hurray!
On a side note, I'm unsure as to wether or not I'll be able to take pictures of my birds before I send them out/when I receive my birds. My boyfriend has the camera, but I don't know if I'll be able to see him and get pictures taken before it's send-out time.
I finished my second bird! They are turning out so super cute; I think I might just make them all out of paper. I'm worried about people feeling somewhat short-changed, though. It's just that my sewing skills leave a lot to be desired. I feel like it's equal because these little birds are actually kind of complicated, and I'm spending about the same amount of time on them as I would if I sewed them. I guess I'm just really nervous because I haven't really made things for other people before, much less strangers.
I just finished my first birdie tonight! I'll get another one or two done this week, and finish the rest the week after next. Next week is three papers: two 10-pagers and one 150-pager. I am so sick of school. And so ready to have some pretty birdies to cheer up my dorm room!
Just a question--are we required to make stuffed birds out of fabric? I can do that, but I was planning to make a couple out of paper. I thought we could make the birds out of anything we wanted, but it seems like everyone is making stuffed birds...
