I sent this to one of my friends who lives on the other side of the country. She moved away after we finished school and I never get to see her. She is one of my very best friends and I missed even the little things like hugging her. I made her this so she would have someone to hug even if I couldn't be there for her in person. She's always loved the Muppets, and Kermit especially. Hope you like it. (please forgive the disgusting mess on my desk) and maybe eventually I'll get to that tutorial I've been meeting to put up
So a few years ago the lovely jennieingram made me a Ravenclaw Quidditich Hoodie as a gift and I of course love it and wear it all the time. Other people loved it as well (for obvious reasons) and I was asked to make one for another fan. It's almost exactly like the one that was made for me but I thought I'd share none-the-less. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=301920.msg3448304#msg3448304 is the original and here are the pictures of the new one. I would LOVE a reason to make at least one for each of the other houses. EDIT: sorry I didn't make the hoodie. I just stenciled everything on. I did make a lining for the hood to coordinate though
Front Left Sleeve Back Right Sleeve And complete with hidden wand pocket
So I made these originally for something new to do and I didn't quite expect them to come out that well, but I'm so happy they did. I look at them and they make me smile. I hope you love them as much as I do. I bought the pattern from dolphinwing on etsy and found I had to do some modification to make them my own brand of pony. Their eyes are appliqued on, and have a sequin for that added pony glitter, they are stuffed with poly-fill, and the cutie marks are hand embroidered because I couldn't come up with a better way I was happy with. These took a ton of time and love. Please let me know what you think and how to improve!
an "in-line shot" Fluttershy Rainbow Dash Twilight Sparkle Rarity Pinkie Pie and last but not least Applejack Close-up!
I made this for my sister several years ago, before the Twilight craziness hit and back when it was her favorite book. She's in high school now and I don't know if it's her favorite anymore but it's still in her room.
I'm just now getting her to take pictures, and what you don't see is the spines of the 3 books open and are lined in velvet so it can hold all of her lovely things.
I also scrunched paper on the sides and decoupaged them down so it looks like the pages of a book.
Okay, so I found this woman's Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/31712497@N00/ and I found it so AMAZING that I had to attempt to make some of these. Mine are a cheap imitation, but I enjoy them and I hope you do too!
Firstly, I'll do Alice from Twilight since she's the odd man out in the rest of this post. I made this before I read the books and gave it away to my then roommate which now I regret because now I know that Alice is THE best character. This is obviously her from the movie
And since I have a Harry Potter obsession: In his Quidditch uniform Detail of the Lion: sorry it's blurry
Albus
Minerva:
Voldemort: (he was the first one I made so I don't really like him that much...and he's evil)
This is a cute little baby blanket I made for a girl I met in one of my classes that was having a baby. I didn't really know her that well, but I was hoping to give her something because I love kids and I love the idea of children having something they can hold onto forever.
I got the pattern online, I'll see if I can find the link and post it. I really like the way it turned out. Thanks for looking!
For the loaded Charm Bracelet Swap I made PirateColey a lovely little bracelet that was a collection of charms that represented her life as a mermaid (which she wishes so badly to be) either that or a pirate- i don't know which she wants more. It has treasures she would find under/around the coasts: shells, pearls, an anchor and a ship wheel. And all of her sea friends are there too! fish, dolphins, octopus, and a whale. Hope you guys enjoy, it was so fun making it for her. Oh, and I made her matching earrings (the charm company online send me several of the same charms accidentally.)
So I made this cake for my mom because she was having a really terrible first week of school (she's a 5th grade social studies teacher)- to be fair it wasn't the kids giving her trouble it was the principal! I made it for her because I thought it might cheer her up and we have sort of an inside joke about giant pandas.
It was also an excuse to experiment with fondant. I did buy store bought from Hobby Lobby. And, I don't think I'll ever do store bought fondant again. I'm not sure if anyone else has had a bad experience but it was hard to make it cooperate and it tasted terrible. I had such high hopes because I love cake decorating shows (where I know they make their own) But alas I was disappointed.
Anyway here is the cake, it had a few cracks which i tried to fix when on the cake already and it didn't work-- oh well, live and learn. If anyone has any DELICIOUS fondant recipes I'd be thrilled if you shared so I can rectify my fondant fiasco.
