I love love love aventurine blue! Almost as much as I love aventurine green! So I couldn't wait to do a little dish with the blue. The background is also blue. I painted the scene using aventurine blue frit mixed with liquid stringer medium and I used a bamboo skewer as my brush. Measures about 5 inches square.
I made this plate last fall and just never got around to finishing it until last week. I had all kinds of ideas about maybe weaving into a bowl or some such, but ultimately I decided to go simple. The dish measures about 10 inches square.
I did a little experimentation with frit painting and came up with this. This image is what comes to mind when I listen to Miike Snow's "Sans Soleil": "morning bled at the water's edge..." Measures approximately 10 inches square. Enjoy!

A customer recently suggested that I branch out into Judaica, aka Jewish stuff. I did a little research and discovered that I could make mezuzah cases which are hung outside the doors of Jewish residences with a scroll inside. Here's what I have come up with so far:
