1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: How specific should I be when choosing a machine? on: September 22, 2010 05:47:10 PM
Here's some good advice from some reliable sources on how to select a sewing machine:

I would *STRONGLY* suggest though that you investigate sergers first - they are essentially sewing machines on steroids...more expensive but much easier to use and with many more functions:

Good luck!

8  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Please be gentle it's my first time! on: June 21, 2009 06:43:31 AM
Great job for a first try.  You'll have to take a handicap on your next one or it will be unfair!

9  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Backpacking on a Buget: DIY Soda Can Stove! on: May 27, 2009 07:54:03 PM
That is way cool.  Now if I can just get a method for remembering all the food I'll be all set  (seriously - last time we went backpacking my backpacking buddy forgot the hot dogs, and my kid asked us, 6 miles in "Hey, what were those cans of beans rolling around in the car?  - great timing ;-)

Next time I definitely want to try this soda can thing though, that's neat, thanks for posting.

Good luck!
