I learned to blend a photograph into a background from http://mistycato.wordpress.com/2010/04/21/blending-made-easy/ this wonderful site. I am so excited how this page turned out!
22  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / I'm a teddy bear Mom! on: February 04, 2009 09:41:51 AM
This mobile phone pic doesn't do justice to the newly crocheted hat I made for my son:

Adding ears to his hat seems to make him more apt to keep it on so he can show off to people.   Wink Thanks for looking.........
23  COOKING / Dessert / My gingerbread men! on: January 06, 2009 11:07:49 AM
I bought the pre-made cookie dough for these.  I'm glad I did because I never realized how much work gingerbread cookies are to decorate!  I will never again use frosting for the eyes and mouth.. next time perhaps I'll opt for red hots.   Wink

24  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Robots in love handmade journal / book (img heavy) on: April 09, 2008 11:03:02 AM
Here's a journal I made showcasing some rubber stamps I scored off of Ebay:

I lightly sandpapered the avocado green cover.  I used plain white, orange & pink construction paper for the inside.  I also recycled one of my husband's old Aviation handbooks and threw in some cool pages of airplane diagrams and stuff.  I'd love to know what you think!
25  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Itty bitty book charm on: December 21, 2007 05:43:25 PM
((( I hope this in the right category! ..)))

This is a real teeny book 'charm' ( I added a little loop so I can wear it on a necklace ) -- its bound just like a big book would be. Wink

any comments appreciated!
26  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / hershey nugget treats w/handmade boxes on: November 30, 2007 06:46:02 AM
I've been making these little treat boxes for my daughter's teachers for xmas...the busdriver, our mailman etc etc

I covered hershey chocolate 'nuggets' candy with scrapbooking paper & made coordinating little boxes to match also from scrapbooking paper & cardstock:

Here's a link to a bunch of downloads for box measurements if anybody wants to try this.

27  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / crocheted rag rug on: October 04, 2007 06:41:22 AM
a recent finished project. I'd love to know what you think of my new rug  Smiley

http://images.etsy.com/all_images/e/e75/83d/il_430xN.12208960.jpg

The rug measures about 33" across.  I did not really follow a pattern at all.  I just single crocheted in the round.  I think I started by chaining 6 & then I joined with a slip stitch to form a ring.  From there I just single crocheted like you would if you were making a hat or amigurumi and increased my stitches here & there ( I didn't even keep track of rows ) I just eyeballed it and made sure it was laying flat every few rows.

To make the yarn I starting tearing about a 1 1/2" strip but stopped ripping about 1-2 inches from the end & then repeated this process again on the other side while keeping the first strip connected. I repeated this step until I had one long continuous strip. This elimated any sewing to join strips or countless knotting of each single strip. When I needed to join another color I just knotted the two strips together.

ETA: there is a little more info about the rug on page 3 of this thread Wink & I added a few more ramblings above this picture

29  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Can you change colors in the rounds without joining? on: April 03, 2007 07:15:45 AM
Hope that title made sense.  Grin I am not a newbie crocheter but i'm going crazy over here w/my current project.  I am making some hats in the round..and i dont join at the end of the round..i just keep spiraling so there is no seam.  but I cant seem to change colors without the new color being all off rows?  I searched craftster & google and cant find a tutorial on how to change colors in the round?  can anybody help?  I have no problem changing colors with anything else..so I have no idea what i'm doing wrong! thanks in advance!
