a recent finished project. I'd love to know what you think of my new rug
http://images.etsy.com/all_images/e/e75/83d/il_430xN.12208960.jpgThe rug measures about 33" across. I did not really follow a pattern at all. I just single crocheted in the round. I think I started by chaining 6 & then I joined with a slip stitch to form a ring. From there I just single crocheted like you would if you were making a hat or amigurumi and increased my stitches here & there ( I didn't even keep track of rows ) I just eyeballed it and made sure it was laying flat every few rows.
To make the yarn I starting tearing about a 1 1/2" strip but stopped ripping about 1-2 inches from the end & then repeated this process again on the other side while keeping the first strip connected. I repeated this step until I had one long continuous strip. This elimated any sewing to join strips or countless knotting of each single strip. When I needed to join another color I just knotted the two strips together.
