I just finished up this capelet as a custom order.  I didn't use a pattern.. I just winged it.  I think it came out pretty cute

These are some handmade cards I made for this months featured children of Make a child smile ( the children featured monthly on this website are ones with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. The site tells a brief description of the child & their disease. It also lists their likes and dislikes and their mailing address to send the cards to. Please take a moment & send one of these kids ( or better yet all 3!!) a card / postcard. * Oh, and you do not have to handmake the cards you send if you dont want to, but i'm guessing most on this particular forum would 

My daughter (age 10) & I vowed to send these cards out monthly. This is a great project for children to teach them compassion & gratitude while being creative all at once.

I couldn't imagine being a mother to a terminally ill child. Sending these cards out monthly reminds me of how blessed I really am & puts all my silly problems into prospective.

Oh, & I made these cards from a brochure I received in the mail from Build-A-Bear.  They have the cutest bear pics in their catalog/brochure, but now my figures are sore from all the cutting !

I just finished this capelet for my 10 year old daughter.  (she modeled very professional-like dont you think?!  ) It's crocheted in the round starting from the neck down &  I just went along and designed the capelet as I went.

I forgot to join rounds as the pattern stated ..but they still turned out just fine!    I made a pair of maryjanes last year from another pattern and didn't think to use 2 threads at once.  this pair is much cozier. thanks for sharing the pattern!

here's another blanket I just finished:

I made this blanket for my 6mo old baby boy.   The colors are brown/tan & baby blue ( for some reason the blue looks sorta white on my screen? ) It also matches my livingroom decor well.  I followed this pattern: http://woven-stars.tripod.com/rippletutorial/.

 I used 1 strand of yarn instead of 2 & I used an I-hook. I sorta changed the pattern after row 5 because it was curling up for me?  Not sure why?   I also added one more stitch on the points of the star on the last row to round the edges a bit more.

This pattern was very very easy and works up so quickly..! I just love having some projects laying around that I can work on while watching t.v. or too tired to count stitches etc. ( i have a 5mo old so the feeling of exhaustion is pretty normal around here  )
