2  Re: Wedding Gowns for the... um.. ample? lol in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions by itsnikki on: May 09, 2006 12:26:29 AM
I actually found my flickr address, and put the photos on photobucket so I don't have to worry about remembering the stupid address.  Grin Grin

ANYWAY....

The picture makes me look washed out and yuck, but here it is. (My mommy and I<3) My husband's grandmother made it for me! This was her 3rd wedding dress! (Lucky to have a seamstress in the family!!)

You can see abit more of the detail on the front there. *edit* maybe you can't. But I like that picture!:P

It's an empire waist, and the sleeves don't meet at the bottom, but they flare out like a bell sleeve. I like the way they're attatched at the top. I think that his grandmother put alot of detail into it that was'nt in the pattern, just to make it special.

(OH, by the way... the veil and tiara, as well as the flowers... were all bought at hobby lobby. If you can find someone with a talent for things... food, flowers, sewing, whatever... see if they can help you. Trust me, it makes a difference in the cost of things. They might charge very little or nothing, and it's really more cost effective than pro's.)

3  Re: Love your wedding? Then show off your photos here! in Weddings and Bridal Showers by itsnikki on: March 27, 2006 03:39:39 AM
Here y'all go! I have many more fav pictures. But not on my flickr account, haha.Smiley

Rob and I.<3 His grandmother made the dress for me.Smiley

Us at the reception. Gotta love my photoshop skilz.Tongue

Yup. The guy next to Rob was our roomie for a few months, and the best man. The bald dude on the end is my brother, haha. (My grandmother threw a fit that he shaved his head for some reason. As if she never looked at my hubby, lol!) and the short girl in the pink dress is my sister, she was my maid of honor.SmileySmiley

A LOT of my family showed up. A lot more than I expected, heh.

I thought this was cute. I love Rob's expression. haha.

And I just think this picture is so cute!!:)

4  Little Nikki!! in CHALLENGE 9 ENTRIES by itsnikki on: February 03, 2006 10:45:20 PM

This is the miniature version of me! I read the challenge and KNEW I had to do it. Let's see... she's crocheted out of some yarn I found laying around, and her features are embroidered on with other yarn.Cheesy

Her hair is'nt *quite* the same color as mine at the moment, but it's hard to find a reddish brown. So her hair is just plain brown, like my hair used to be.

She's wearing a dress that's similar to one I made for myself.Cheesy

And she's knitting. Which is one of my favorite hobbies.

I thought back on the project after seeing her, and she's a "me" made of crochet, which is part of my business and one of my favorite pasttimes, so there's something else about her that's like me.

And here's a pic of me. Yay. See? She looks just like me! Wink Cheesy

5  Business Card Help! in Crafty Business Discussion by itsnikki on: January 22, 2006 10:25:45 PM
I'm about to start a small business and sell my crocheted items through etsy and possibly a local store. Just playing around in photoshop I've come up with a business card. But I think it's a bit too plain. What are your opinions? What could I do to make this card better?

I mainly sell crocheted and knitted items. Hats, scarves and purses mainly. They tend to be on the girly side. (Just wanted to give you an idea of my business.) The name Zombie Love came to me quite suddenly. I have been nikisazombie on (most) all of my screenames, so I did want Zombie in my name. I put the love to convey a bit of girliness. Heh. I don't know, I like the name.Smiley So anyways... yeah. I guess I should show y'all the card, right?

6  Beautimous and Simple Hat! in Knitting: Completed Projects by itsnikki on: January 15, 2006 04:00:23 PM
I finally made a knit hat that fits! Well, it's a bit snug, but I'd say that's MUCH better than being wayyyy too loose. I made it on straight needles and seamed it up the back since I don't have dpn's and circulars that would work.

I used this pattern:http://www.glasscicada.com/knitting/basichatpattern.pdf

You know you love the retarded faces I'm making, lol!:D

8  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by itsnikki on: January 10, 2006 09:09:31 PM
My hair is long. And brown. And... boring. But it's nice hair. Really, it is. Incredibly silky and shiny. And it's past my shoulders. It has'nt been this long since I was about 12 or so. (I'm 21 now.)

Let's see... I've had blonde highlights, a slightly bright-ish red hair that really suited me, REALLY bright red hair and almost black. My hair is very dark naturally though... with a bit of red-ish highlights and strands of grey (ugh!). I want to dye it red again, though. And maybe add layers or something. My hair is just so heavy and I'm so wishing I had short hair again, lol! Ok... some pics. None are all that new, but yeah. Smiley *edit* I added more pics. And realized I'm really a pic ho. haha.

This was in October. Um, yup. My crafty hand-made costume that I made in one day.Cheesy

haha... tiny pic. But it shows the color well!:D

Me trying to look all sexay last summer.Tongue

See how short my hair was this summer?

Another one of hubby and I<3<3

And this is tonight. No makeup. Just plain brushed out hair. It looks all wavy. Heh.

I'm thinking of dying my hair. In fact, I've just about got my heart set on it. Nothing wild, just a red color. I'll post pics when I do.Cheesy

9  Re: Making your own halloween costume-along.. in Halloween Costumes by itsnikki on: November 08, 2005 10:55:15 PM
I went as a cat... pretty standard, I guess. I crocheted some ears, edging them in black fun fur, and attatched them to a black headband. I wore a dress I made a while back, and wore a black shirt I already had over it so the black and white top of the dress was hidden. (Plus it made it a bit warmer.) I was supposed to wear some fishnets, but they ran. Oh, and I also crocheted a tail, but it was'nt very visible. Maybe I should've put some fur on it also. I wore clear shoes, and did my makeup pretty normal, I normally do smudgy-ish eyeliner... I just drew on some whiskers and added bright red lipstick (Which I typically don't wear, but I liked it.) It was all thrown together, I only had a day or so to do it. We did'nt go out on Halloween though... we went to a friend's concert that was on the Saturday before.

(See!? You can't see the tail! But the hem of the dress is awesome, because it's assymetrical *sp?*)

My hubby went as a juggalo/icp fan. He looked at their makeup, and came up with a similar but different design. He wore clothes he already owned, and we picked up the makeup and spray on haircolor at Walmart. He took longer to get ready than I did for once! It seriously took an hour to do his makeup!! But I think it turned out pretty awesome.Grin
