1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Trying to find a pattern for a bridesmaids dress on: October 29, 2012 02:43:13 PM
My brother and his girlfriend are finally talking wedding plans. However, the dress she really likes for her bridesmaids a.) is ridiculously expensive and b.) doesn't come in either of her wedding colors. So, being the one in the bridal party that knows how to sew, I'm trying to see if I can find a way to make them instead. The dress she wants can be found here.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Looking for Suggestions on: September 17, 2012 09:36:06 PM
I work for an anime convention that just happened this past weekend.  Throughout this last year, I've done a lot of advertising via flyers all over both the city I live in and every convention I've been to.  Now that the show has passed for this year, I'm looking for something thrifty to do with the thousand or so flyers I have leftover.  They are postcard size and weight, printed on both sides, and have a glossy finish.  I've thought of making custom cards and things to send to my friends in other cities, but there are just too many for that idea to cover them all.

Thank you!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Seeking a Sweater Dress Pattern on: September 12, 2012 01:22:55 PM
I've been crocheting for a long time, but I always seem to have trouble finding patterns that I really like.  I would currently love to make myself a cowl-necked sweater dress for the upcoming holiday season, but, of course, there aren't any patterns that I can find.  Would anyone happen to know where I can find a decent sweater dress pattern?  I'm nervous about the idea of trying to draft it myself, but I will if I must.
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Magic the Gathering Valentine's Day Card on: February 08, 2011 08:11:40 PM
I LOVE this!  I made my BF a 52 Reasons book out of Magic cards for Christmas.  I actually used 60 cards (standard deck size) and wrote him a letter on the extra eight.
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Newbie Swap Round 14! (signups Sept 9-23/2010 Send out Oct 25/2010)CLOSED! on: October 05, 2010 04:49:14 PM
Everyone is finishing so early!  Real life has been kicking me in the butt.  I have about three fourths of one project done (small) , half of another (medium), and haven't even started the third.  Sad

You know, I really kind of hate Twilight, but that layout is absolutely fantastic.  Smiley  I love that you added the charm.  And the Halloween layout is incredibly festive.

Just responded to the PM from my partner and I have a whole storm of ideas brewing.  Cheesy  I am officially VERY glad that I signed up for this!

I am SO excited about this swap!  I have tons of ideas to make, but of course I won't know what is appropriate until I find out who my partner is.  Does anyone else have crafty things in mind for their partner, or am I just taking this too seriously?   Shocked

I have a little series of ideas jotted down.  Thursday is just coming so slowly!  I want to find out who my partner is so I can get down to specifics and start shopping for any supplies I might not have on hand.   Grin

Felis, everyone else already asked what size the afghan is and all that, but I really want to know: what pattern is that!?  Maybe my monitor is showing the picture wonky or I really need a new prescription on my contacts (both are probably true XD), but I can't tell and it's driving me crazy!

My guilty pleasure TV shows are sitcoms.  I don't actually watch a lot of shows as they run (never was big on sitting down to TV at the same time every day).  How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory have me hooked, though.

Music is...varied for me.  I like just about everything in some way or another.  I dislike "gangsta" or "ghetto" rap--I'm not sure what the actual genre names are, but that's what we call them here.  I'm also not a fan of Johnny Cash, but I blame that entirely on being raised in central Kentucky where they play nothing else.  -_-;;  I'm big on Emile Autumn, Adam Lambert, John Prine, Queen, and Meatloaf just to name a few.

Sorry I disappeared for a few days, everyone.  My immune system decided to go on vacation and I have been vegetating on my brother's couch watching How I Met Your Mother (made it through two seasons XD).

I have been stalking the swap gallery threads for about a year now, and I can honestly say that the Buffy swaps are what catch my interest most.  I'm a huge Buffy nerd.  Smiley

I think the first big craft I did was a costume for an anime convention.  I'd done several costumes before, but I put a huge amount of effort into this original Moogle design made exclusively out of fleece.

windgie79 -- I have oohed and ahhed over your Tetris blanket before!  That is absolutely amazing!
