21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Getting It Tight, But Not Too Tight! Necklaces on: August 17, 2011 08:29:16 PM
Shocked Wow, those are some teeny screws LOL I'll try feeding more wire back on itself. My eyes are straining just looking at the website!

I haven't heard of scrimps before, I'll have to check them out. The problem usually occurs with seed beads on the wire (I thread it back through about 4 or 5) but not with larger beads.

I bought them here: http://www.skybluepink.com/products8.html but also found them here: http://www.rubbernation.com/servlet/the-ADD-A-PHOTO-JEWELRY-cln-Bamboo-Tile-Beads/Categories

So I've made a couple necklaces with the flexible nylon coated wire and when I loop the wire back in on itself and secure the crimp bead, it always seems that I get it a little loose so that there is a gap between the last bead and the crimp, leaving wire exposed. Is there a trick to getting it tight enough but not getting it too tight?

This is gorgeous! Did you use a varnish over the image?

I did. I used Nunn Design sealant before cutting it out and then once it was on the tile, I added one more coat.

Found some great domino-shaped glass tiles online to make pendants! Yay! I found the image on a PC wallpaper site somewhere.

So beautiful!
I never heard of Mucha or of this painting before, but I love it and you did an awesome job making jewelry based on the painting.

(Edited to add: I just Googled Mucha and realized that I DO know a lot of his work. But thank you for making me discover another beautiful piece.)

No problem. He's my favorite artist and I love any chance to turn someone else on to his work! And thank you for liking my work <3

Are these Dolly Dingle paper dolls? I actually have a reproduction book of these and was brainstorming how to use them in a craft. They're too cute!
