161  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fill a Trick-or-Treat Bag Gallery on: September 26, 2010 09:46:43 PM
Behold the haul I received from Monnie31! I had to fight the Weenus of DOOM! for the box in the most literal sense of the statement.

The beginning....

Everything out and arranged as best I could manage. Please excuse my messy dining room table. Right above the doll's head is the bag she made as well. It is very large and shall come in handy for groceries. =)

Many Halloween decorations including spider web, glitter skulls (in two colors!) and glitter spiders. These will be put to good use! This pic also kind of includes the Halloween sockies (two pair), a ponytail clip and the first piece of candy I found.

Two cute decorations which will be traveling to work with me as they fit perfectly with that other stuff I already have up (yes, my office was decorated a week ago). That little book is one of the cutest things ever. That little guy is on EVERY page. He is like Achmed's cousin (you know, from Jeff Dunham). Better sockie pictures.

My super cute Bride of Frankenstein (at least that is what I am calling her) doll. The neck stitches are cool, but you have to be a perv and lift up the dress...  Cheesy

She's been autopsied! (Also, you can see a corner of the pig ear package that Monnie sent for the Weenus of DOOM! He was dancing around going, "OMGgiveittomeormyhe adisgoingtoexplode!"

Everything was wrapped in nice little organza bags. I hated taking it out. One bag had a nice box painted like a jack-o-lantern. And there was stuffs inside!

Monnie made me a set of Witches Runes! *squee* There were also two votives in there I neglected to take pictures of. =/

The candy haul! I shall be hanging off the light fixtures for sure. Chocolate covered coffee beans, candy corn (omnomnom!), Kinder chocolates (*squeegasm*) and assorted other candies that will be eaten (there was a big bag of candy, I took a piece of each kind out for pictures). Sooner rather than later if I don't hide them from the candy vacuum known as the Other Half (he swears candy is a food group).

Better pictures of the decorations that will be heading to work in the morning.

163  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: BJD Doll sizes/measurements on: September 13, 2010 09:27:16 PM
while not 100% related to the topic at hand, I was curious if it was more common for people to buy the dolls rather than make them by hand?

I was starting to get interested in the hobby of making them (I recently purchased Yoshida Style Ball Jointed Doll Making Guide) and joined Den of Angels.

Or maybe it's more common for people to make the clothing rather than the doll.

My friend that collects them just left so I brought this up. As I suspected, most people buy their dolls as opposed to making them. According to her, there are a few people that make their own clothing, but most buy that as well.

I would think it would be far easier and less stressful to make the clothing rather than the dolls. However, that is my opinion and I do not collect, I just admire.  Smiley

Yeah, I will most certainly try to do that. Someone once told me I am my own toughest critic. That should kind of give you an idea. lolol

Deep breaths...no swap anxiety until you actually send off the package.  Smiley

I think that will be something closer to complete meltdown.  Cheesy

I am having such swap anxiety it is unreal. This is normal right?  Undecided

I am hoping to get everything I have decided on finished up this week. The other stuff, well, I have to make up my mind.

As much as I would like to participate, I am just beginning my very first swap. I'll have to catch it next year, but that's OK.

However, I wanted to wish all the other September peoples "Happy Birthday!" Especially VampAracely and AlyssaKnits who share a birthday with me. Us cuspies have to stick together.  Cheesy

I do believe so. *squee*

I am editing this to let you guys know that my user name has changed. *does happy dance*

I have gone from the ever so craptastic "CrackRabbit" to VegasZombie. Apparently when I signed up for Craftster I was on something *really* good to come up with and actually use that name.
