with the metal tealight cases... if i am thinking of the right thing... make your own tealights. just boil or microwave the wax and pour it in and you have more candles. instead of going out and buying more....

and a great way to use some little bits of leftover wax

Excellent idea, vanniejoy!  I have an old plastic cd case that fell apart and left me with just the pocket parts.  I think there's enough material on the side to bind it in someway.  The only thing is that they're just 2 cd's to a side (half the size of the sheets in this project).  I'm thinking I'll just cut the cover front in half and use it on the back too.  Thanks for the project!

oooh, I like it!  The ribbon around the paper and spine is an excellent way to "rebind" your journal.  Can't wait to see pictures!  Smiley

you could make a bracelet out of the coil....cut it to the right size, maybe thread some cool looking ribbon through it and join the two ends.  I'm not sure what the best way to join the ends would be, though.

That tri-block t is awesome!

If they've got some lovely fabric or cutesey designs on them, you could disassemble the front piece from the back.  Then you could use that front panel on a pillow, purse, quilt....some cheeky fun stuff for your girlfriends.  Or you could sew up the edges and make little panty pillows.

If the fabric is lacey, you could use it to make some little sachets with some homemade potpourri inside.

You might be able to use the plain fabric pieces in a patchwork way.

With the stringy bits of the thongs, you could maybe somehow create hair bands, bracelets, etc.  This is assuming that they may not be instantly recognized as underwear bits if they are separated from the structure of the undies.

edited to add:  looks like ishtar and I were on the same page with the patchwork as we typed our replies at the same time! Smiley

if you were going to do a collage of family photos you could also include some special "remember when" things for each of the months

I just keep thinking "conversation piece art".  Imagine someone admiring your artwork and then finding out what it was made from.  Like those tampon dolls.
