Oh wow!  Everything looks nice in your office Kelly!  Glad you liked it all and it looks like your shoes fit in the bag - I was a tad bit worried they wouldn't fit.

I received my package today from Kelly - I receive a paper tray, a ring, a vase, and a desk calendar.  Unfortunately the vase didn't make it.

Check it out:

The awesome paper tray inspired by an item on my wists:

An awesome ring that fits me perfectly - love the colours!

A great desk calendar:

The broken vase - but check out the beautiful beads!  I think I can salvage all the beads and make something out of them:

Awww... sorry to hear about the pots!  I thought I wrapped them in enough newspaper - I guess not Sad  Glad 1 of them made it though.  Did I forget to put in the shoe bag?  If I did - it is in my car and I can mail it to you.

I received from Ariane! I got an amazing package. Sadly, two of my pots and 1 saucer broke  Angry  I think customs was not so gentle with my box.

In good news, I love the colors and I think they'll add a lot to my workspace. Ariane really nailed it. THANK YOU!

Words can't really describe how much fun I had with this swap.  Goosegg did an amazing job on crafting me items that I will cherish and use for a long time.  She used my favourite colour teal for the items.

Ready to check it out?   Grin

In my survey I asked for a bookmark (I was tired of using old receipts) and I love crocheted item (because I can't do it), so Goosegg crocheted me this wonderful bookmark!  I love everything about it!

Then she used freezer paper to create a stencil and made me this awesome bag!  I needed a carry tote for the library too!

I love making lists, so she made me a little list book to keep track of the books I have read and review of the book.

The two books she sent me are Johanna Edwards - Your Big Break and Kate Collins - Snipped in the bud.  I haven't heard of either of those authors, but ready the synopsis on the back - they are definitely books that I would have picked for myself!

One last picture of everything together:

Thanks again to everybody in this swap for making it such a great experience!  I hope to see you all out there in other swaps Smiley

6  Re: Pimp my cube/office swap (Sign ups closed) (Send outs June 1st) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by ariane.phillips on: May 01, 2009 09:30:11 AM
Ahhh the sun is out and shinning brightly - but I am stuck in my office.  So, I thought I would take some photos of my office to help pass the time.

This is the full office.  As you can see, I share the office.  Right now I don't have a roomie, but I am sure that will change any moment.

This is a picture of my boring desk.  I made some fabric cannisters for all my office supplies to help, but it still needs more help.  And those are tissue paper pom-poms on top of the cabinet.  I made them for a function - but would love to put something better there.

All the plants in the photo aren't mine either - i am babysitting them (and doing a bad job  Embarrassed ).

Lastly, the view from my office... it is not as nice as crazyred's, but it's better than no window!

7  Hooded Baby Bath Towels in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by ariane.phillips on: March 09, 2009 12:59:00 PM
Here are some pictures of the new baby towels that I have made.  The towels are approximately 31" x 31" finished.  I also make my own binding to give them a more handmade feel.

There is a tutorial made by Break It Down Design - which is basically exactly how I make these towels (except I had sew the binding closed and I made a pattern for the hood): http://www.breakitdowndesign.com/chapter_2.htm

I love them all.  I actually made another one, but sold it to a friend.

8  Re: My first Purse & Wristlet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ariane.phillips on: March 06, 2009 06:31:24 PM

I made another wristlet using the same tutorial (by javajem: http://javajem.blogspot.com/2008/02/wristlet-tutorial.html).  This one turned out pretty good - wish I had a white zipper though!  Oh well!  Next one!  The dimensions are approximately 12" in length and 7" high.

9  Curve Flap Wristlet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ariane.phillips on: February 16, 2009 10:25:36 PM
Did everybody see the wonderful diaper bag that Gentle Quiet made?  If not - check it out: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=290378.0

It really inspired me to try to create a curved flap similar to hers.  But before I tried it on a large bag, I wanted to try it out on a smaller bag - that way if I messed it up, I wasn't wasting too much fabric.

So, I made this wristlet.  I learned that when you are making your pattern for the curve portion - over exagerate it.  On the paper, my curve looks exactly what I wanted it to, but then when I put it together, I would have liked it more curvy - like Gentle Quiet's.

I used medium fusible interfacing for this wristlet, I may consider using a more heavy interfacing and maybe even adding a layer of fusible fleece.  Can't hurt to try it right?

10  My first Purse & Wristlet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ariane.phillips on: February 12, 2009 04:51:36 PM
My purse broke about a month ago and I have been walking around with my wallet and all the other stuff in my pocket.  I had a bunch of wonderful fabric that I had no plans for, so I decided to try and make my first purse.

It turned out not too bad!  I made a couple mistakes, but learnt from them - I accidentally sewed the pocket closed... heheheee...

I used a pattern for the purse and wristlet.  Both were very easy to follow.  All the fabric is from Amy Buttler's collection and purchased from purl soho.

The wristlet:
