-black feathers($3/bag)
-hot glue(on hand)
-aluminum foil(on hand)
-black felt(on hand)

Cost: about $4

I glued black feathers all over to cover the mask. I used aluminum foil to shape the beak I wanted then covered in felt and glued onto mask.

-strand of plastic ivy($1)

I glued individual leaves onto the mask until covered.

Materials Used:
-small, clay pot (2/$1)
-cotton balls(on hand)
-fake grass(cut from fake flowers, on hand)
-moss(on hand)
-small birds(2/$1)

Total Cost: $1/each

I hot glued moss and fake grass in the pot, glued cotton balls to the top of the pot and cut the bottom of the birds off to glue inside. I am planning a bird tree next year and haven't figured out how I am going to hang them yet.

What a great idea to deal with excess shipping materials. I'm assuming the red stripes are the ribbon hot-glued?

I actually didn't know how hot glue would hold on styrofoam so I just used tape. The ribbon was starting to come off but once the clear wrap was on, it stayed it place. But hot glue would be worth a try.
