This is my first post and my first attempt at making 1. something patchwork and 2. a skirt. Please be gentle!
I got a bunch of pre-cut quarters and some other fabric intending to make a cute sundress... I got to a point where it was either rip out a bunch of seams for the third time or make my project into something else and start over on the dress. Luckily, what I had was the perfect measurements for a skirt! All I did was hem and turn down the top/add a drawstring and voila. I may add some slits on the sides because it's a little constricting to walk in, but we'll see...
This is the completed skirt:

Sorry about the fuzzy quality of the last 2... it's late and taking pics in a mirror w/a flash just doesn't work out too well, which I'm sure you all know! Aside from this not being the intended project, construction went very smoothly. I had no idea what I was doing but somehow the math all worked out in the end. The only snafu I had was that the cotton material I used was very thin, so when I was doing the buttonholes for the drawstring (which I would definitely make a bit longer next time) the material kept getting pulled down by my bobin so they're a little sloppy looking. Overall I'm quite pleased with how it came out considering it was trial and error and my first try at clothing without a pattern.
Now I just have to figure out how to get the dress to work... if anyone knows any resources for drafting dress patterns online I'd love to know!
