1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Bernina Walking Foot Search! on: April 06, 2012 02:27:26 AM
Hello Quilters!
I have just became the proud owner of a beautiful Bernina virtuosa 150 QE. I'm on the hunt for a walking foot, second hand if possible, but there are very few for sale online. Does anyone know where I might pick up a reasonably priced one?

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Quilting Advice for Beginners on: March 04, 2012 06:39:10 AM
Hi, I found the book Little Bits Quilting Bee (link below) really brilliant for starting off. Many of the magazines and books are prescriptive, i.e. the "correct" and "incorrect" ways to work and "proper" techniques, where as the Little Bits... just gives you the tools to start creating yourself with whatever ideas are floating around in your head. Far less traditional but, for me, a lot more creative and fun. The sites you use, the quilters you follow online and the tutorials you follow will depend on if you want to make a traditional quilt or just mad freestying Smiley
Also, if you're on Pinterest, check out Earthtones Girls tutorials boards - I've found them absolutely invaluable http://pinterest.com/earthtonesgirl/

Have fun!
