11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Rusty Scarf on: April 06, 2006 03:14:03 PM
I started this scarf right before Christmas, thinking I'd have it done in time to give to my Dad for Christmas...

and it's done...4 months later.

As modeled by the manwife, who is totally oblivious to the fact that I have even draped it over him.
Anyway, it's a really simple scarf... 2X2 rib knit...in impossibly tiny alpaca sock yarn on size 1 needles.  I know I'm crazy, what with the tiny needles and yarn and such, but I love the fine guage, and it's nice and soft and drapey.
12  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Another first... on: March 03, 2006 01:00:59 PM
I finally spun up some yarn...I've had a batt sitting here forever, but Spring Break has finally allowed enough time to actually do something with it.  It's corriedale...first time plying...and it turned out sort of fuzzy.  I need to figure out how to get my fibers smoother...and even out my plying...  Anyway, I like it enough to make myself a hat out of it.
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Shiny armwarmers on: February 14, 2006 12:05:21 PM
My friend has been begging me for a super-long pair of armwarmers.  I found some wool/nylon yarn that has a silver core with purple and blue wool around it and decided to make her some.  One down, one to go...

2x2 rib on size 6 dpn's...I loosely based it on last minute knitted gifts man armwarmers but decreased twice so the forearm wouldn't be loose
14  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Striped Hats Make Me Happy on: October 30, 2005 11:24:37 AM
So I decided to try my hand at knitting, and I think my first project turned out well enough that I can use it as a gift.  Pardon the horrific camera skills...

I used this pattern: http://droppedstitches.blogspot.com/2004/11/two-movie-easy-knit-hat-pattern.html
except I didn't add stitches after doing the k2p2 rows because I never follow directions, but I think it turned out alright regardless
15  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / I <3 corduroy on: June 12, 2005 04:05:13 PM
So my friend has been asking for a little bag forever to throw over her shoulder...and now it's done.  I found some brown corduroy in the remnant bin at Jo-Anns...and a fat square of swirly pink...and some grosgrain ribbon to trim with.  And added some sparkly blue beads in the shape of a sun....

16  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Bars o' soap on: November 28, 2004 12:08:14 PM
So I've been making some soap, and it looks like everyone is getting this for Christmas this year.  It's rosemary-mint...scented with rosemary and peppermint EOs with some ground up mint leaves and rosemary mixed in at trace.  I still need to work on getting nice smooth edges and sides on my bars...
