I finally took a group photo!

I received:
a cloth pad from the noodle princess: i loooove the colors!  it's so well made.
a neckwarmer from cindy_23492: i love the color of this, too, and the big red button.  I wore it around town when we had our last snowstorm.
roving from raynbow: already spun into yarn, I think I might try to knit some armwarmers with it.  And I want to blend the pink/purple bits that she sent into some other fiber and spin that into something else.
a drawstring bag from reethi: great fabric!  I'm still deciding what treasures I'll stow in it.
and an owl pincushion from SewingLori: my new rabbit has already run off with the owl and made it her best friend to toss around and play with.  So I guess when I'm not sewing the owl will double as a rabbit toy (sans pins of course).

Thank you sooo much to everyone, everything was so great!

The purplicious bag rocks.  Everyone sent out such great stuff in this swap.

Here's all the yarn I spun for this swap.  Everything is standard wool except for the center skein on the right, which is an angora/wool blend.

Lyme-I looove both your color combinations
Knitwit-mango tree is excellence
Feralfeminine-thistle is beautiful

I spun the following for the sweat shoppe swap.  Never again!  At least not while in law school-it was a week of absolutely no sleep.
A spring sort of colorway, mill ends:

navajo plied mill ends

brown/white mill ends dyed blue:

Single, mill ends

A wool/angora blend in a natural fawn color dyed with yellows and gold

Wow...everyone's yarn looks spectacular...so even and nice.  And I love the coils and puffs of color...

I tried out some Sheep Shed superwash this week.  345 yards...thanks to my jumbo plying bobbin.

Here is the wonderful fiber that I received from mayerlove:

Clockwise from top left: dark green wool/mohair blend, tons of silk hankies, natural farm wool, blue and purple corriedale.

I've never spun corriedale or silk before and can't wait to try them out.  Thanks again mayerlove!

This is a photo of the roving I sent to mayerlove:

Commercially dyed wool on the top, hand-dyed wool/angora mix in the middle, and hand-dyed merino on the bottom

8  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 8! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by bitibis on: February 28, 2007 08:12:46 PM
I'm in!  And I'm spinning yarn.  I just got a shipment of superwash (suitable for washing in a machine), mohair, and standard wool.  Plus all the other fiber I have.  Anyway, here are some examples of yarn I've spun:

I'm thinking of doing some experimenting with the superwash because it's already dyed light blue and I don't want to dye it again-like coils or plying it with a beaded thread to add a little sparkle/texture.

10  Handspun Hat in Knitting: Completed Projects by bitibis on: February 08, 2007 09:31:24 PM
I spun up all my scrap fiber and didn't know how the yarn would turn out or how it would knit up-especially since it's a big mix of wool, angora, merino, mohair, hemp, and alpaca-but I really like how the colors blended together.  I based it off this pattern but modified it because my yarn wasn't as thick.... http://droppedstitches.blogspot.com/2004/11/two-movie-easy-knit-hat-pattern.html
