11  A Zombie Bunny to Love! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by IckyDog on: May 02, 2009 09:06:16 AM
So I recently did a private swap with a gal from Canada. Our rules were simple - it had to be plush, and it had to be a secret! We didn't know what we were getting until we opened our packages! I thought I'd share what I sent her!

Eating the brains of a sock monkey!

So, I did some research and found out that my swap partner has a thing for sock monkeys. She's also a little "disturbed" like me, so what better plushie than a zombie bunny eating the brains of a sock monkey?!?!?

She enjoyed him quite a bit!
I used fabric paint for the blood!
Let me know what you think!

12  Los Lobos - aka Wolf (image obese!) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by IckyDog on: April 10, 2009 01:10:56 PM
Whew!! This wolf took me forever to make today!! He stands 16 inches tall by 16 inches long! I used a fantastic faux fur that has a gorgeous grey undercoat with cream and tan tophairs ( I LOVE this fur!). The pattern is actually very simple. I got it from www.silverseams.com. Tons of great free patterns! I enlarged the pattern 200% (hence the large wolf!). Trimmed the fur around the snout and eyes, and voila! Los Lobos!
Let me know what you think!

With my icky dog Zan! Ha! Cheesy

I like him ever so much!
Cheers!!

13  A wool felted Squirrel! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by IckyDog on: April 08, 2009 02:08:55 PM
Hi! So I made this squirrel today and thought I'd share him with you. I made him out of a wool sweater that I felted and faux fur for the tail. I think he's pretty darn cute!! And I have a question for any of you who work with faux fur - is there an easy way to turn a faux fur piece?! It took me 30 minutes to turn his tail right side out! Ugh! The fur I used has a fairly stiff backing and is a 1 inch pile. Any suggestions?
Comments are always welcome too!
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!

Thanks again!

14  No! They be stealin' mah BUKKIT!! - a walrus in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by IckyDog on: April 07, 2009 04:18:00 PM
Soooooo, I decided that I needed to make a walrus. I don't know why. I've named him Jaime (after Jaime Hyneman from Myth Busters - ok, seriously. Look at a pic of Jaime and a pic of a walrus - the same!).
Here he is! Let me know what you think!

I think he turned out pretty cute!
Cheers!

17  ZOMBIE UNICORN!!! and her albino baby in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by IckyDog on: March 19, 2009 02:59:57 PM
Well howdy! So I recieved a custom order requesting - of all things - a zombie unicorn with her albino baby. Gotta tell ya, this was a heck of a lot of fun! Here is the result - and my first attempt at a zombie anything (the zombie rabbits will follow soon - I promise!).

Sorry about the background in some of the pics. Apparently I need to construct a larger light box! Love to hear what you think! Comments, suggestions, etc!

Cheers!

18  A frog and a leopard. Is there any better combo? in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by IckyDog on: March 18, 2009 02:51:40 PM
Alrighty! I made the frog and leopard as a custom order for one of my coworkers. You're never too old for stuffies!!!

The frog was a pain in the butt to sew. Mainly the feet. But I think he came out looking pretty good!

The leopard wasn't nearly as bad. I had started out trying to make a cheetah . . . but I think he looks more like a leopard.

Let me know what you think!!
Cheers!

20  OMG Bunnies! (a little image heavy) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by IckyDog on: March 09, 2009 06:33:33 AM
Hi all! So I've become obsessed with making plush bunnies. I dunno why. I mean, they're cute and cuddley and whatnot, but I'm typically not a bunny kind of gal. My craft room is overrun - my rabbits are multiplying like, well, rabbits. Enjoy the cuteness and let me know what you think!!!

My first 2. Named Mocha and Kiwi.

Silas (named after the albino in The Davinci Code)

  Chaz

  Buster

  Pip

  Paisley

And no, this is not all the bunnies. And I've got patterns ready to sew for 4 more. I've gone mad I tell you!!!
Comments, tips, and suggestions always welcome!!!

Cheers!
