1  Re: Steampunk for the Home Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Larissa-Rasputin on: March 15, 2012 05:00:45 PM
Sorry it's taken me a while to get to posting pictures, life has been pretty hectic.  I have to say WOW!  You guys have all done a fantastic job!  Everything was so wonderful.

Onto the great package I received from Alchamy513
This guy was utterly fabulous and my favorite piece.  He came with two top hats and a tiny little cane.  He's found a permanent home perched on my half wall.  My husband was totally in love with him!

I also received a great piece of wall art.  All of the papers were really cool and I can't wait to hang it on my wall!

These guys were "botched" attempts for part of the wall art piece according to Alchamy but I am thrilled she sent them anyway!  I love silhouette art and these little beauties will find themselves framed and also on my wall.

I also received some really cool cards and sticky notes!

She also included a red throw blanket that she picked up at a thrift store but I somehow forgot to take a picture of.  Thanks so much for being such a great partner!  I absolutely LOVED everything Cheesy

My partner KraftyKT has been sick an is unable to post pictures of what I sent her so I offered to do it.
First off is a couple of necklaces inspired by ones that Claudia wears in the show.  The adiopose is my "xtra" as she had listed Dr. Who as a favorite show.

I then sent her a pheonix:

I then sent her a lamp inspired by the set of the show itself. (I didn't send her bulbs so she could choose her own style/wattage) It's hard to see here, but it's a faux book with a really neat map cover.

Ok, so here's my lovely package from ekioart

First off are these playful little buggers.

I also received this lovely fabric covered headband (note to self, do this to more headbands!)  I love the fabric!

I also received this adorable cloud clip (from my wist/pinterest!!) and a absolutely stunning red clip that pictures do not do justice.  It's a gorgeous deep red.

And last, but certainly not least! This gorgeous comb!  The feathers have this green shimmer, that just wouldn't capture no matter how I turned it in the light.  I love love love this!

I received from silentblair Cheesy

I opened the package and saw this wonderful box with an image straight from my wist!

I opened it up and inside was not one but TWO Captain Jacks (Pirate jack and Torchwood Jack) and three of my favorite quotes! (Can you guess where the third one is from?)  I probably laughed on and off for 20 minutes much to the amusement of my husband.

Isn't the fabric just awesome?!
I also got a very cool Pez dispenser and a skull and crossbones charm that I plan on using in my pirate charm bracelet whenever I get around to it, lol.

I also got this wonderfully creepy hoop. So very suiting for the text, don't you think?

I was also lucky enough to receive a dreadlock from Jack himself! Very clever and not something I would have ever thought of doing!  I also received two absolutely GORGEOUS wrist warmer/hand flower thingies. They are incredibly soft and the knitting (?) is absolutely beautiful.

I included a linked image if you want to see a closeup on the warmers.

Thanks so much again for such an amazing package!  I love everything. Cheesy

Received the most phenomenal package from blupaisan!!!!!! We are decorating our living room in a nauticalish theme (think more inside of a ship/piratey sort of theme than lighthouses (boo!)

Anyhoo....I knew I was receiving wall art but I was unprepared for the total awesomeness the package contained!  She truly went above and beyond my wildest expectations!  I cannot express the amount of joy and glee this package  brought me.  My husband totally loved it as well, which is good, because it was going on the wall regardless of what he though!

blupaisan, if you have better pictures, feel free to post them as I was unable to fully capture all the wonderful nuances.   All of the little pictures on it are drawn beautifully.  I love the burn marks, the dirt, the candle drips, and the bloody thumbprint!  It came with this very entertaining letter.

"As you can see it has survived much such as a fire, candle drippings, dirt (probably from the time he (Captain Clark Thatcher from the good ship Nanny B. which now rests on the ocean bottom somewhere off Fiji) was buried alive and managed to get out) and the bloody thumbprint he left when he killed Black Bobby, the man who did the burying."

Received an awesome package from nostephot

First up is this little cutie!

Isn't she wonderful?  Straight off my wists.  I <3 this!

But wait, there's more!
She also sent me a ton of embroidery floss!  I've been wanting to get into embroidery and no place close to me carries any.  I have a ton of colors to choose from!

But wait!  There's more!
I also received some printed out instructions for various stitches (VERY helpful) and a "stitch lesson"  The numbers printed on the lines, really help me figure out where the needle should go.

But wait!  There's more!
She also sent me some patterns, man I cannot WAIT to try these out!  I also got a heat transfer pencil (which I somehow did not photograph)  How cool is that?!  I didn't even know such a thing existed!

Thanks again for the wonderful birthday present! Cheesy
