1  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Givers and Needers 9 (Givers: April 11, Needers: May 9 on: April 24, 2011 10:53:33 AM
wow i'd freak out at hosting a dinner party of more than 2! Smiley i'd love to see a pic of a cupcake stand!?

I have some pics and the tale of woe of how they came to be under my standards in the first place but then saved by embellishments on my craftblog (http://slyfoxcrafts.wordpress.com/). Unfortunately I don't have pics of all the finished cake stands (am waiting on a friend for their pics). But I think you'll see some of your beads, lace/ribbon, wire hummingbird and playing cards on the pics I do have and they came in very handy!

If you read past the first entry to the one below you can see the original cake stands sans embellishment and decoupage. Unfortunately the person putting the cake stands together (it was her party so I trusted her to measure twice lol) got impatient after some glue issues and when finally gluing them together didn't measure so some of the stands are a bit crooked now but the embellishments and setting them at advantageous angles on the table saved them... and it was a Mad Hatter Tea/Garden Party so it was fine that some were topsy turvy.

I intend to make some for general use as we throw a lot of dinner parties and they were soooo useful for holding sandwiches and desserts and aside from glue issues which we finally figured out, they were really easy and cheap to make.

I am working on my thank-yous, almost finished but it has been a busy week at our house and we somehow managed to think it was a good idea to throw two 15+ people dinner parties in a week so the amount of tired and cleanup has had its effect on my production/crafting time lol. I am nearly done with Jcorn's item and about 1/2 way thru Corduroy Cat's so I am not worried and will resume my efforts after the weekend. But wanted to check in so no one thought they were forgotten Smiley

Still loving my packages ladies, again all my thanks and many of the items were actually very useful this past week with the dinner party prep, I used some of the stamps for the dinner party place cards and several of the items from Corduroy Cat's package went into embellishing my homemade cupcake stands... they actually saved the cupcake stands as I had let someone else assemble them without supervision and they came out a little wonky but after embellishments they were really cute!

I got my package from Jcorn today!!!

Seriously I got super spoiled in this swap from both my partners. Jcorn's package was super heavy and just filled to the brim with Stamps and embroidery and glass/mosiacs and other stuff! I was so happy and excited when I opened it!! What a generous and kind person you are to share with Jcorn, thank you very, very much! I will use it all and am sooooo excited about all of it.

Here is a picture of my goodies!!

And a picture from the other end so you can see all of it better!

The box seriously weighed like 10lbs! Between JCorn and Corduroy Cat I am in crafting heaven and will be busy for quite some time!

Thanks again Jcorn!

Awesome Thanks Jcorn, USPS hasn't sent me an email with the # yet tho maybe it will come later we don't do daylightsaving in Az so never sure what time it is elsewhere for people lol. I'll keep an eye out for it! Can't wait!!!

I did get my package from Corduroy Cat today tho, prepare for jealousy and uber spoilage!

This is the whole thing (my dinning table can seat 6 comfortably and I still had to stack some of the paper and roving up to get it all in one shot!

Here's some closer pics of some of the beads and bobs

Roving!!!!!!!!!! So pretty and so much!!!

Another different angle shot of most everything:

The pictures don't do this package justice as I had to pile a lot of stuff onto of other stuff to even get it to all fit on the table. Corduroy Cat you are a very generous lady and I am lucky to have been your partner! Thank you so much for everything I promise I will love it all and use it to make beautiful things!!

Seriously I was so happy and pleased with this package!! Now I have to really figure out something great to send you as a thank you!

Thanks again!

ha! i'm giving in order to see how much of a hoarder i actually am!  Roll Eyes it's very hard to go through my supplies and give things up that "i might use one day". this was really evident when i was sorting through my buttons. i've had them for years but never, ever use them in projects. my needer actually makes button art pieces so it would be logical to just give her ALL of them, but i still hung on to some that are pretty to me for one reason or another. sigh. i have a huge heavy box to slim down so i can afford int'l postage and then it's off to arizona Smiley

I promise to love them and use them in beautiful ways if it makes it any easier Smiley
