1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Pop art inspired high waisted skirt on: March 22, 2010 03:07:53 PM
love the idea, love how it came out. it must've taken hours to do that! the design and colours kinda remind me of Yellow Submarine Cheesy
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: American Apparel Thigh High Socks for Thunder Thighs! on: March 20, 2010 12:44:58 PM
i have spent my whole life trying to figure out this exact same thing! well, no, that's a lie. but i did think to myself 'i need some thigh high socks that fit me' at least twice and i, too, do not get along with garter belts. i think some sort of wide elastic at the top would work, but i guess it would have to be a specific kind to not slide off. also i think the sock itself should be of a lycra-type fabric so it wont lose shape when stretched!

if any of you ladies figures out how to make this work, i would love to hear about it and maybe see a picture or two?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: Fat girls and skirts.... on: March 20, 2010 12:37:05 PM
hi! sorry but i haven't read through all the 23 pages on this so someone might've already mentioned it... http://www.whatthecraft.com has an awesome and super-easy tutorial for a pencil skirt - it was one of the first things i made when i started sewing. i guess circle skirt/a-line skirt/pencil skirt, it all depends on your shape - not every big girl has the same shape! but i find that a pencil skirt with a slightly higher waist looks awesome on me. i guess it's just trial and error what looks good on your body type.

They're super cute! I especially like the orange ones!

So, silly question, and perhaps not the place to ask, but are inchies something like those art trading cards?

Hello hello!

I have been reading the boards for a while now, and finally decided to join the fun and say hello. My name is Marlene, I'm 23, from the Netherlands. I've been making stuff for as long as I can remember, lately my favorite things to do are drawing and sewing, but I'm always trying new stuff!

Anyway I hope to have a good time with you guys, just seeing all your projects makes me happy and want to make stuff myself Smiley
