13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: my crafty snowoman IMAGE HEAVY! on: March 11, 2006 09:31:58 AM
wow, i can't imagine living i a place where it doesn't snow!!

about your snowman, and the letters....puff paint would be expensive to use on snow that would melt in a few hours anyway, here we put water in dish detergent bottle (or any other bottle you could squeeze or spray) and put water and food colouring in it, voila, coloured snow! i dunno if you'd be able to write things with it, but you can make a funky pink snowman!

I have a 25$ gift certificate for amazon, and i'd really like to buy a knitting book. Most of the books that i've looked at on the amazon.ca site don't have pictures of the inside of the books.  I don't want to buy something when i haven't really heard much about it, or haven't seen the inside of the book.  Sooooo to get to my point, i was wondering if any of you follks could recommend some knitting books to me.  Oh, and i already have Stitch 'n Bitch.

Thanks a million!

Ooooh, i love love love vancouver.  more than anything. but being on the compelte opposite coast (nova scotia) i don't get there very often.

One place you'd have to visit is Zulu Records, the website says that it's on west 4th ave.  i don't remember exactly where that was, but we got the bus and it wasn't hard to find.  there were also alot of really good looking restaurants around there, and snowboard shops.  Concert listings are also on their page.

You also have to go to granville island.  it's under grandville st bridge and there are quite a few markets there.  there's also the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design there, so there's a few shops for materials down there (i didn't notice yarn though)
