1  CANADA / Atlantic Canada / Re: Halifax meetup? on: November 12, 2009 05:45:49 PM
Hey!!

I'm in Halifax.  I'd love to meet up with other folks who share the same kind of interests.  I like to knit, and sew (although not so well) and i'm just starting to crochet.

Make them into sundae syrup!

Cook on med - low heat until they're soft.  Mash them up a bit.  Cook some more until they're getting kind of liquidy.  you may need to add a bit of water, it doesn't take much though.  and add sugar to taste. i think i usually add about 1/4c but just add it bit by bit, and keep tasting it.

Spoon over ice cream or frozen yogurt.  even makes good jam on toast. you can keep it in the fridge for a few days, or longer in the freezer.

Oh wow, you did an amazing job. your friend must have been soo pleased!

My sister's getting married in october, and i offered to make her veil for her.  i wanted to make it with beads too, but wasn't sure how to go about doing that.  What kind of glue did you use?

you could cut them up into squares and make them into a quilt...i've been meaning to do this for a loooong time, but don't have much space to store all those old jeans...

soadchik was the best swap partner ever in the history of swap partners!  i'm sooo full from eating all that candy and pecans...mmmm....ju st a question though, what is the jelly?  "Kudzu Bloom Jelly" i've never heard of it before.  the description on the back of the jar reads:

"suggestions: great with toast, bagels, buscuits, taste just like crabapple to me,
i hope you like it.  i waded through the snakes for you.
Made with tender love and care"

I waded through the snakes for you?  i find this sooo funny!

oooo, and there were also little notecards with knitting girls on them!!!! tooo cute...

I received my parcel from soadchik today!! it is soooo awesome.  She made me a beautiful brown bag, and post cards and magazines, and papers...and there's lots and lots of candy, and pecans...the pecans are soooo sooo good.  i'm trying really hard not to eat em all in one gulp.  My sis has my camera right now, so i won't be able to take pics, until i get it from her...

oooo soooo good!

Soadchick, the package i sent you is trackable.  go to canadapost.ca (click english) and then on the left hand side it says "track a package"  under that put in the delivery confirmation number that was on the receipt that i sent you...

i did this earlier, it says it's still in halifax, which means it didn't even leave the province yet! i'm getting sooo anxious waiting!
